- Different races eat different foods. “sorry i’m a 'xxxxx” I can’t eat beans".
- Mushroom seeds, that’d be awesome if mushrooms could be a crop!
- Grant Kirkhope’s music in boundless. It’d sound awesome!
- Achievements that give you rewards
- Cosmetics with particle effects (I really want that) from the speical box things I’ve seen
- Chunks of story that can be found in caves, (like an object that is just called storypart or something that can be used to add another part of story in a menu place)
- The Race that has goat kinda legs has really REALLY reduced fall damage
- Lots of beautiful rare flora that can be obtained from the boxes or by exploring tough biomes. Also seasons for flora.
- Mushroom people race.
- Ressurection Items. Where when you die if you have a 1 revive token, it will increase by 1, that’ll reset every day
I like the suggestions especily the food thing would make the game a but harder
as for sound, C418’s Alpha made my game 10000% better, same with Yooka-Laylee OST
Also, another idea
to craft an item you need to have the previous item as a material like for stone hammer, Wood hammer, sticks, and etc
or for the later recipes it has ??? as materials that you need to find out.
You aught to spend some time reading through the older dev logs, as I think you may find a great many of these suggestions are already either being implemented, being designed, or in some cases, rejected.
For example, there is already a great deal of flora in design for the game. Agriculture and crops have been described as a feature that they want to make much more in depth, and may appear after the official release of the game.
The game already has a highly renowned music composer writing tracks for the game. One of which, unless I’m mistaken, is showcased in the trailer.
Achievements have been discussed in depth, as have rewards. You will have to forgive me for not linking that topic here, it’s a headache to add multiple links on mobile.
Background story will likely be told in a fashion similar to dark souls with discovering item descriptions and dialog from hidden Oort Temples, or flying Titans.
Individual racial traits however, have been nixed due to strong opposition from a portion of the community. However, this allows players to chose their race based on aesthetic appeal, rather than ability.
I have found multiple pieces of ancient technology embedded in blocks throughout the worlds, and I think that it could be used to build circuits. (a bit like redstone in minecraft) I also think it would be nice to link the boundless world with our own, because the ancient technology looks a lot like our own. (the races of creatures are descendants from humans and other creatures that became sentient after most humans left for fear of destruction)
1 - Really great idea. +1
6 - Chunks of story must be very, very rare, because it’s 100% true, that players will create a wiki and post information found, so if we can’t create adventure for every player, let it be the adventure of the entire community. Anyway, it’s also such a good idea.
7 - So every race should have its own advantages based on anatomy. I like this idea.
9 - wat
Like @Havok40k has already told it
Individual racial traits however, have been nixed due to strong opposition from a portion of the community. However, this allows players to chose their race based on aesthetic appeal, rather than ability.
… There will be no differences in gameplay/abilities/skills for the races, just optical differences. The devs don’t want the players to chose their race because of their skills or talents, but their lore and look.
Sorry, I don’t usually read other people’s long answers). So thanks @Havok40k
But… it’s not that long of an answer, it just covers many points…
I think the “nixing” is rather caused by the opposition from the devs since I´ve never noticed any aversion from the community (it even seems contrary, the majority of the community seems to like & support the idea of racial differences)
And sorry, but whenever I read about the “mystery box” I feel like I´d need one of these:
The ‘mystery’ box if I think what your saying and I recall previous threads and posts, makes me want one of those as well. Its a very slippery slope sadly
I still don’t get what’s so bad about mistery boxes…
If you don’t want one don’t buy them. That’s what people in cs:go players were doing for the last few years and I don’t see anyone complaining
It wasn’t an issue until it was suggested that higher tier backers would get a unique race/species thing, then suddenly it went south fast. Now it seems, neither is planned. I also recall a lot of heat about many traits being inherently perceived as “OP” no matter how balanced, and others who want to be able to gain every ability in an uncapped talent system, and racial traits would make that impossible too. I don’t have a strong opinion on it one way or another, same goes for mystery boxes. If you feel you have to spend loads of money obtaining lots and lots of mystery boxes to get a particular item you want, perhaps you need to reevaluate your priorities. I doubt anything would be included in mystery boxes that is needed to advance or grow in the game that can’t be obtained in game as well. It just feels like a non-issue to me. But I’m not here to stir that hornet’s nest of a topic again. Too late, I suppose, but that’s all I have to say about it.
you say mushroom, I say toadstool
Or maybe some way to increase abilities to your preference, regardless of race.
That would be the talent/professions system.
I just refreshed on the topic of classes and discovered that they have been done away with.
Classes were not attached to abilities, but rather more like occupations (eg. Farming, Hunting, etc.). I was thinking something a bit more like this.
