Been working on information regarding current biomes and what plants are found where. Was planning to create something similar to “Farm School” for surface plant gathering and calling it… ‘Plant School” or something idk.
In any case, is there any information out there in the universe regarding what biomes exist in game and which plants can be found there? The boundless wiki does not quite have the information i’m Looking for but would love to be able to see that info in one place.
For example:
Desert Biome: Mostly sand. Can find Desert sword, aloba, spineback, oortian staff, and sometimes thorn/tangle.
Mud Biome: Mud/dirt. Can find Rosetta nox, oortian staff, mottled tar fungus, clustered fungus.
I’ll give you want i know. There is biomes and can be found in the world builder. They have no specific names like “desert biomes” etc. They have all their own name with specific preset. I guess someone with the world builder could give you this information or send you the biomes json files (i do not remember if they are hardcoded or actual json).
Second, sadly we don’t have access to what spawn in each of these biomes. it is hidden in their severs. Best bet would be too look at the biomes and make a list on your own from what you see in game. This list might be huge and time consuming since there is a lot of different biomes.
Didn’t @James post a link to the “biomes” files on github somewhere?
I think most players have experience with hard/obvious biomes like you see in MC, Cv, Tr, etc. From what I understand, the Boundless biomes are more natural and not like the other games we’ve played.
Thanks! Yea this is basically what i’ve Been doing. I harvest plants daily so I have a list of where to go to find what i need. Just didn’t know if there was a file or something I could refer to.
I was planning on making a planetary guide, build showing different boomers in areas for each planet. Then selling things you find in each of the boomer or planet areas, making it like a huge park with benches, fountains etc. Your idea sounds cool. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. If you want I can make another alt character to clear atlases, and create a list of each planets areas and coordinates. And what you find there. Love to help out.
Each biome is unique, You create a biome by forming landscapes and select what blocks they contain.
The surface resources grow on different blocks, like sand grass stone etc.
In the knowledge i think it say what blocks different plants grow on.
Thanks! I’m planning to build a showcase on the second floor of my Fronds Superstore. Maybe selling location tokens to hotspots where you can gather things like flowers, oortian staff, etc.
But this is a project that is still a ways off in the future. Got a couple of other builds to finish first. Like… the roof of my Superstore… lol…
Hey! These are pretty easy to get.
You can get them on any planet from Tinted Burst fungus (grass/forest biomes).
Or you can hunt for clustered tongue fungus (T6+ mud/grass), or weeping waxcap (T5+ ice/glacier)
My advice: Go to Ultimate Network Besevrona gate. It’s set up next to a huge ice biome. There are tons of weeping waxcap (edible lamella and shadow orb) as well as star drop plants (Bitter beans). You can get a full smart stack of shadow orbs and bitter beans while also collecting edible lamella.
Edit: There’s no real “trick” except find the fungus and whack it with an axe. You could put the lamella in an atlas to make finding them easier. But otherwise just put on some good music and zone out while you chop some fungus.
Thanks! I do have Luck maxed, and I love forage-zoning.
I’m just occasionally frustrated at how the Tinted Burst fungi hide in the grass on my main planets! I’ll definitely have to try the other fungi elsewhere!
Lots of stuff hide in the tall grass. It’s full of danger and secrets!
But in all seriousness, i suppose you could take a 1x3 (or 3x3) shovel and just clear the top layer of soil in the grassy areas. Any plants would break dropping their stuff and you’d also get soil and seed.
But i definitely recommend besevrona. Good high quality materials all around if you collect there. Shadow orbs and bitter beans sell well so you can make a decent profit while gathering lamella.
