Boon 2 and 1 requiring SPITTER EYES?!?!

And looking at it another way. The spitter eyes, the hardest and significantly most expensive material to get are needed for all tiers of the pure boon compound. where as the orbs that are supposed to differentiate the tiers are easy to obtain in useful quantities even for the top tier. This means that if you are going to use pure boon compound it makes no sense to craft anything other than top tier.

its not in the shops cause its used much by the people. Also the change into spitter eyes is how many days away? 10? do u really think the market has adapted to this in that short time? come back in a year and do ur market analysis about spitter eyes lol

didnt u see the mass of people posting here, who doesnt even have a clue where to get spitter eyes? This will change soon when more people know how to farm it, bringing some results back home.

If your short time theory was correct as far as market adjustments go we should still be seeing the impact that existing stocks of eyes should have had in suppressing the price rises and sustaining stock in shops and that’s before you take into account the stocks of eyes and boon compound that were already in the hands of forgers. 10 days is a long time in a online game where most people are playing 4+ hours daily. We should at the very least see a few people who have been hunting for a long time and have existing stocks of eyes gouging the market but there are just no eyes to be had. The truth is the mass volume of eyes you seem to think are available out there are not.

I know where to get eyes i just don’t want to put my personal time and effort into doing so as high level planet hunting isn’t a part of the game I like - I’d rather buy them from someone who does which just isn’t possible. Boundless is supposed to allow for you to play the game as you want, others to play how they want and have the player economy enable this. The spitter eye shortage/requirement is blocking people from who want to craft and forge from doing so.

so u are whining cause u dont wanna get them by urself, but others need to run for u and the game is broken when u dont get enough at a reasonable price? >.<

in those 10 days i got around 30 spitter eyes while not even farming them specifically or hunting much on t5+
thats nearly 2 mass crafts of boon compounds. (mostly from walking near lava with auto collect tool)

stop complaining about the drop rate if u arent even hunting by urself and have no knowledge about this. Right now the economy is just not big enough to support all the players being too lazy or busy or whatever excuse they come up with, to go get some stuff by themselves.

Have u ever tried to speak with people who going on hunts and asked them for a good deal? Or at least asked them how the drop rate in reality is, so u can stop imagening things?

Why should people sell material for forging, when they can use them to forge stuff, to get stuff faster, or sell it at ridiculous amounts?

Btw i have a base in serp, inside a canyon and i dug some moats at both sides. From the mountains its raining mobs and i just have to pick up the loot… Why is farming eyes that hard for? u can literally use the location to kill them off.

( i wished i could fill my moats with lava or water * dream *)

Have you actually gone out and hunted at all? If so, what level planets?

Hopper cores are significantly harder to get and now I feel vigour catalysts are almost essential for forging (at least with minimal rng involved)

I do think there needs to be a new low end group of compounds and buff removals among other ingredients with some drawbacks for the low end gear and new forgers that don’t require creature drops.

Oh yes, T4-T5 worlds, but I figured out what the problem was for me, my luck skill was too low. Changed that now having MUCH better results, so this was a PEBKAC issue mainly, I totally forgot to boost luck on my up and coming hunter/gatherer.:+1:

Follow up on my story. In my quest to get enough eyes for a mass craft, I reached level 48 (from 39). I just skipped the Boon compounds all together because I can craft the better ones now (draining and so forth).

I still don’t believe the people throwing around crazy numbers like I got 500 in 30 minutes! I now have a dedicated hunter, with about 15 hours or so solo hunting and about 10 hours doing group meteors. That character is 50+ now, and I have about 160 or so spitter eyes.

Anyway, take from it what you will. My prediction came true for myself… by the time I got enough to do anything I was too high level for those ingredients anyhow. This will probably be my last post on the subject. I still maintain, they should “rebalance” the lower level recipes so that lower level (20-40ish) players can use them, get OK forging results and do so before they cap out their EXP. Good luck all, and happy hunting.

I go hunting nightly, what are you buying spitter eyes at price wise?

spitter eyes like sand on a beach, if u open ur own. u can get some before the diamond wall and that enables u to do low lvl forging.

all the loud people just didnt know how to get it, and in 1 month the price for it will be normalized

This is demonstrably not true, as if it were people would be selling them (per Poxun’s point). You can disagree about the drop rate being too low if you want, but at least do so in reality.

Mememememe, me. Me!

Selling wise I look for baskets buying in the 100-150 per eye normally and then drop down to 75c if I cant find any.

I can normally get 25-50 each night in spitter eyes.

How many hours of hunting are you spending nightly to get those eyes?

2-4 hours depending on rng. With 8 in luck.

Usually start around 8p and end at 12p

This was the argument many of us who were loud about the change initially were making. The change was stupid in the way it was implemented. By the time you’re at a position you can ‘farm’ them (and it’s not even a farm at that point really, its a grind which is different because grind gives you little reward for a lot of work where a farm item/status is a reliable amount over the same period of time - a subtle difference in nomenclature that has been around MMO’s and the like for decades) but by the time you’re in a position to grind for these items, you’re no longer in a position that requires you use those items so the whole intended point of the devs, to make use of the spitter eye, is by and large skipped and a wasted effort. Had the team brought this idea to the community at the start I wager we would have been able to help them come up with a better item to replace the spitter eye in the boon compounds and at the same time find a recipe that is better suited to using the spitter eye. But what do I know.

My kids got some ps4 time in over the last half of the weekend and said they didnt crash at all so it sounds like the team made some progress there. As that stuff starts to free up dev time, hopefully they’ll be able to do a thorough pass over the forging system and a rehauling of the recipe lists.

pure boon is still better than any other choice. And u can farm them pretty early on… just need to be on serp. its in no way wasted to make pure boon compounds. u dont need spitter eyes anywhere else, so whats the problem with those? u dont require pure boon only for powerless forging >.<

Please do not spread false information. Pure boon is used by exactly 0% of high end forgers (I’m not talking about those crummy 150-200 rank items, I’m talking 240+).

Please do a little research before contributing. I’d recommend starting with Merln’s guide, and getting some hands on experience on the testing server. Once you do this, you will quickly understand why Pure Boon 3 is not even to worth wasting a slot on. It’s nearest competition is more than twice is good as Pure Boon. (Additionally for it to even make a 150+ item, you’d have to waste 2 slots)

high end forging takes much power to get into, and some extensive orb farming, and until then u can use pure boon compounds, why not? as if u need those eyes for something else
