Boundless on XBOX?

Hi there!

is it planned that Boundless will come on XBOX?

Pretty sure that Sony has a deal with wonderstruck so it’s ps4/steam exclusive.

Not only that square enix has a preference for publishing to playstation

I think James has said in the past that he’d like for it to be available on more platforms.

It might have to wait for Boundless II: The New Beginning, due to several (assumed) limitations. (No, I’m not saying there will ever be a BL # 2…just hypothetical talk here)

I think this ones come up many times before with the answer being no plans to do it whenever it has.

You never know though, once things start to actually get developed around here we could see boundless on gamepass #wishfulthinking

That is no longer the case. In the past Sony has paid Square a lot of money to do exclusives on Playstation (KH2, FF13 era). Nowadays, Square often does simultaneous launches on all platforms (FFXV, Outriders, KH3). There are some exceptons that are timed exclusives (FFVII Remake), but no platform exclusives like before. Outriders was even a Xbox Game Pass title.

Personally, I think Boundless would do extremely well on Switch.

they should finally do some placements with some minecraft streamers or any kind of advertisement.
this game got so much potential and all the minecraft dudes i know dont know about this one -.-

I think some of the base things in the game should get tuned first, such as the upcoming exp changes, and maybe a few edits to the early game/tutorial.

Wish we knew around what point people dropped off, but I think only the devs would know that.
Such would at least help figure out where players lose interest, and where it’d need to be improved.

I said preference, i never said exclusively. Did you even read my post?

Lol I doubt the switch could handle it. The PlayStation struggles from time to time as it is and the switch is less powerful

If you look at the trophies I believe it’s around lvl 20 when people stop. The grind gets too real about that point. Getting from gold/titanium to gems has always been a rough point unless you ask for help or manage to get coin to buy but there’s plenty of people who don’t like participating in the market

I think forging is supposed to bridge the gap from titanium to gems, but it’s such a big system, and the RNG is so strong, that it doesn’t feel like a real option to a new player.

I still can’t be bothered with forging.

I still consider myself ā€œnewā€ … n’all.

I think if there was more concentration on pushing folks toward creativity, and … basically … lego … then perhaps they’d not be so concerned about lost experience. As it was, I was cripplingly worried about it in my early levels … I was sooooo frustrated with what seemed like (and still does, tbf) a really unfair death penalty for ā€˜younger’ (or not so good) players.

Getting to a level that I don’t die so much (not in skill, heh), and accepting that I’m here to smoke cigars, and build pointless ā– ā– ā– ā– . That’s what helped me carry on.

Anyway … ADHD squirrelling aside … I came here to say something along the lines of:
Isn’t it because it’s a voxel thing that it’s quite processor intensive? Or am I dreaming?

Either way, the Switch is more powerful than a lot of people think, the NVidia Shield that it actually is, consists of a stupid powerful main APU or something. But 'tendo limit it for … reasons?

Anyway, would dearly like to be able to play it on my XBox One X with a mouse and keyboard … but I realise it won’t happen. :slightly_smiling_face:

ā€œ:nerd_face: acktuallyā€ if you be technical there are two ways you can play boundless on the xbox…

in the edge browser on the xbox with Gforce Now…

There is also a remote desktop viewer for xbox that supports connecting to windows computers over wifi… which works … it doesnt work well but it does work…

joking aside yes it does suck that you cant play natively, but honestly adding another console would strap them to even slower updates since now they have 2 certification processes they need to pass…

hopefully the next console cycle prices will have come down more, pc hardware is more common that everyone has a gaming pc; then MS and sony will just release playstation on PC like steam/epic and we can stop having to buy consoles.

Ok, i understand now that in near future will no boundless on XBOX.

oh, totally, also, that second option would entail me letting microsoft know who i am in windows, which ain’t happening!

didn’t know you could use a browser to do gforce now, though … that’s interesting!

i have windows 10 version 20H2 installed at the moment and im using a local account… IE one that is not linked to windows live in any way shape or form… when i upgraded this last month i got the blue screen popup and clicked… cancel because i didnt want to link my windows account on my person desktop to anything…i have done so since i installed windows 10 using the 1903 install media…

when you remote desktop into the computer on the same network you just need to have the username and password to an account on the box…

unless you specifically linked your windows account to a microsoft live account (in which case you already gave them all that info) thats not really how remote desktop works.

But Switch has a lot of limitations

PS4 takes some really nice 4k screenshots… really great resolution, huge files…

really short render distance…
