This is why:
The game is dying and the Boundless devs don’t care. No communication. No updates. This part is speculation but I think they’re making more money from working on BG3 than they ever did with Boundless so they’ve moved on. I don’t blame them but I do blame them for not communicating.

I see it more as cause and effect. No dev communication or no update is what appears to the cause of almost every game is done or I’m quitting thread, the effect is the negativity.
Not ever heard one person say , oh I’m not playing because people are being negative. Some may not start to play, but again. Dev communication would fix that

I would try to explain my position on this, but I know you have no interest in hearing about opinions you don’t already have.
The numbers look about the same if you include all players. @xyberviri has a tool that checks all players on public worlds and the chart looks about the same.

Unfortunately I would expect the trend to be the same.
That pic is definitely not a indication of total numbers, it does however show that there are less and less. Looking at my friends list 70% are pc 30% ps. So, whilst ps may not be losing as many (although pc is where the active players on my list are) it wouldn’t make brilliant viewing - especially as even with free game giveaways and sales on pc the numbers still haven’t picked up

Tbh your position if the devs announced the game was closing tomorrow would still be yay, I’m happy.
I still play, I still buy sovereigns because I like the game. Do I expect it to prosper. Nope. Why…well when was the last time ANYTHING updated, got a development log, or even a hi post from any one at WS at all.

Probably worth adding: I appreciate james still fixes fuel and game bug issues, that is helpful for a lot of people, however if you have got enough time to fix those a quick we are still here post could also be done.

Would like to add to those numbers (how ever someone wants to see it) they don’t account for the fact if someone actually quit boundless or not (just taking a break).
We do know a lot of peeps are just waiting for the update to finally arrive… (or irl stuff is getting in the way).
I want to point out yes we need more communication from our “Oortian GODS” but still what do they say if there isn’t anything to say… today we tested out changing this code. The rest of the day we spent fixing what was broken and still isn’t fixed.

I’ve tried discussing this, and many other things with you, and your response, 100% of the time is to completely dismiss every logical argument and discussion and just double down on your own existing opinion without concrete evidence. You have not shown any sign that you have made any attempt to even understand my stances on things, let alone consider them as valid, so I don’t have any reason to actually discuss things with you.

My stance is based on evidence
- there is zero comms
- there are no planned features bring implemented
- the updates gone missing
- WS last set accounts showed a loss of around 300k and 4.8m of negative retained profit (see end picture)
- they are now part of another company who has them working on an entirely different project
The Only positive I see here is the potential that larian takes over development of boundless and pushes it forward after bg3 is done
Your positive nature doesn’t really have any evidence to support, just opinion. Some of my views are opinions too. However I am more balanced.
I play, i help players, I spent £389 in 4 months supporting the game In sovereigns and fuel (thanks my bank app for making that easy) . I LIKE the game, and I pay to keep it going. However I have come to expect it not to, or at least not much to change for however long.
That’s what I would consider balanced. I see the great things it does, I do post about things I’m doing. Darthpain, Larky, dimonique and Dk Would all likely agree that I do everything I can in game to help people, show they around and donate a LOT of coin as well as spend a lot of time playing. I am also not afraid to call out the epic fail that is the development studio at the moment and do see it as the huge problem and likely cause for it to fail
