Bridges multiple Settlements - How to fix?

So i get the message in “Settlement Details” This Beacon bridges two or more seperate Settlements and cannot merge.

I’ve built on an island and have plotted the entire island. I did have my alt claim and build a bridge between island and mainland. After reading other people with issues i tried.

  1. removing any connecting plots to see if that helped - Nope
  2. joining both mains and alts areas by more plots, 4 wide 2 deep - nope.

Any idea how to fix?

Edit: Alt’s beacon has no such message on it.

Try raising the prestige of the alt’s beacon

could that be the issue? I’ve read a few other posts saying prestige doesn’t matter but if it does i’ll fluff the bridge out. was on my to do but been off farming. Any idea what type of prestige would be required? or how many joining plots?

It can be the issue, but sometimes not. Without a proper look at the plot layouts and their prestige, etc it’s hard to accurately discern the problem.

Edit: Go to sanctum, wait for your settlement to spin around overhead and pull out a totem and activate plot view. It will give a little insight to how plots and prestige are situated around your settlement. A whiter area is higher prestige, a faint yellow is low prestige. Look for gaps of yellow between two lighter white spaces and try to connect or fill the area in.

main island is 99 plots with 43k prestige, bridge is 21 plots with 3k prestige. The bridge is one wide from mainland then where it joins island it is a 4x2 as i read somewhere you need 4 plots to join.

Walk along the bridging part. Most likely some of the bridging part is in the main island settlement already. Spot the plot where you walk out of the main island settlement (watch the name of settlement changing on top of your screen).
Add plots on the sides of the first, second and maybe third plot that are not part of the main island settlement (make the bridge wider than 1 plot in that disconnected part). If that doesn’t help, build something in those plots to get more prestige in them.

Another trick is to place new beacon near the bridge and connect to the bridge from the side. Just make sure you connect to the part of the bridge that is not part of main island yet. And of course build in this new beacon so it has some prestige. Even a thousand should do.

i’ll give it a shot. i’ve been adding plots and removing plots for last hour or so with no luck. i’ll give anything a shot. nearly tempted to remove the bridge as i use a portal anyway lol.

Can stick a warp augment in an atlas better no?

I had no idea you could do that.

This right here is yer problem… the 1x1 section registers as a bridge after about 3 plots, you may need to plop extra single plots onto any side of the bridge every 3 or so plots…

Hard to describe accurately in words, hopefully someone @ a pc can paint a masterpiece to explain?

Edit- seems no paint available, I’ll try with ascii:

Your bridge plots now:
ooooooooooo4xo

What i suggest u try:
oo8oo8oo8oo8o4xo

i’ll give it a shot thanks

still haven’t been able to fix this. Main place is 53k prestige 123plots, the linking bridge is now 10.8k prestige and 41 plots. Still getting the message about Bridging multiple settlements. I’ve removed plots, put down plots. Got no idea how to fix it.

I had someone help me with this issue. You have to pull up the plots between, and use alts to break it up. The issue seems to be a natural center to the main settlement gets disrupted/confused by roads/bridges etc… so have a core settlement, invest in the prestige, and then develop the alt ‘splitters’ slowly… after a couple of days you should those get absorbed

currently bridge is an alt as main ran out of plots. ummm a bit stuck. Don’t have enough plots on main to put them under mains plots and even if he did id hate to waste the 40+ plots on the alt.

just make sure you entire bridge is at least 2 plots high. It does not matter if the upper/lower plots are empty.

I’ve encountered the same issue. My build is on the edge of a town. I’d built up enough to become the mayor. There’s a hill behind my house with some trees which I thought would make a cool tree house, but as soon as I plotted up to the trees I’ve got the bridges multiple settlements message. A few plots away (not connected in anyway) from the tree house is another building which I assume is causing the issue. It looks like it’s been abandoned so I’m just waiting for it to disappear. I’m not too worried about losing mayorship though as the rest of the town also looks like it’s been abandoned. No one else’s prestige has gone up in weeks and I’ve not seen anyone about either.

bridge is 2 plots high all the way along. and where it joins the mains base its a 3x2 rectangle. I thought that i didnt have enough plots touching but didnt seem to make a difference.

update: so a rebuilt the bridge and deleted and replaced some plots. All I’ve managed to do is make my ALT warden of her plots yet my main base and main character still have the same “Bridges multiple settlements” error

If you are in game in 2-3 hours time and give me your coordinates, I might visit and see if I can help on the spot.

thanks for the offer. ripped up all the plots, put them back down and now it’s fixed. go figure. didnt do anything else.
