I wanted to start boundless with the executable from inside the steam common and found the “Boundlessloader.exe” there.
So I tried that one instead.
It started a launcher (!?)
logged in >> It worked
Closed the game and started the launcher to try and make a new account.
worked and logged in. I start the game twice to see if it’s real: it was, there were 2 accounts.
CONCLUSION: Any ga.me account can login as if is has bought the game, as long as he/she has the game files.
Good spot - but this isn’t a bug. We simply have the security disabled on the C++ version of the game at the moment. With the security disabled it’s a little simpler for us to test development versions of the game against the live servers. We’ll enable the security again before we switch the C++ version to the main release. The game will always validate that you own the game via Steam, so they’ll be no free-riding.
