This seems like an odd trick to get your item back out. Is this intended behavior?
It’s been like that for awhile and if you have a bunch of items in the queue do that again and see what happens to them for most expect the current active one usually. 
Now you know why some people have a ton of forges in one spot for this purpose to get bad forges back.
