Building on Biitula. Chronicling My Settlement Build

I want to start chronicling the nuances of building a settlement. Especially from someone who isn’t a proflific builder or has any imagination. Never played Minecraft. So let’s get started.

I own a small town called Sheriff on Biitula that I founded back when the game launched in August. So some aspects of the build has dated back to August and I’m now finding the time to start iterating on my build.

As soon as I saw this view from the top of a large cliff, I knew I had to make this home. In addition, the blue hues and abundance of lakes nearby is a total winner.

This is my vision:

  • To build a town that’s built into the cliff.
  • It will be a thematic build meaning all buildings will need to have a similar color scheme.
  • It will be a medieval castle build

Color scheme

This is the most important aspect of the build for me. I originally intended to use the various blues and purple block colors of Biitula but I realized everyone was already doing that. After alot of back and forth, I settled on a color palette of purple and green.

From top to bottom,

We have for wood: Dark Violet lustrous and Dark Turquoise. They are from the planets of Boori and Trior, respectively.

For rocks: I have Dark Berry Sedimentary and Stale Turquoise Sedimentary from Angel and Trior. These will be the dominant colors.

For secondary colors, I have Oxide Violet Sedimentary and Warm Viridian from Lasaina and Delta Cancret.

Materials and Texture:

I dlsike the look of refined stones. And because I’m a solo operation, I think it would be best to stick with sedimentary rock for now.

Design:

The shop, Deen’s Kitchen, and main towers will be built above ground and high enough that people can see from a distance. I’m taking advantage of the high altitude which is over 100.

Should I decide to accept new players for the settlement, I’ll have to put restrictions on height. I probably can’t let them build higher than the main castle area. And I’ll need to find a way to encourage them to build into the cliff area. I want it so that when people are on the other side of the cliff, you can see people’s homes protruding from the cliffs. Kinda like the screenshot below of the city from the After Earth movie.

I’m also fascinated by the design used in EA from a couple years ago and would like to replicate some aspects of the build. See below. I have yet to see anyone come close to building something similar to this.

Primary problems is that I’m just a solo operation. If I recruit players, then they’ll need to build along my ideas of a thematic build and that’s very tough as people have their own ideas as it relates to creative builds. But we’ll worry about that later.

To be continued…

For inspiration.

Looks promising! I’ll check back on your progress. Good-luck!

Goodluck to you. It will look awesome when finished but I do warl you a project this size will take many hours to do solo.

But hundred hour projects are the best! Such accomplishment when done.

You’ve inspired me!

I’m going to do a similar thing for my shop renovation though sadly started it last night lol
