The ability to design your own tech be it, elevators etc… Is a really fun feature… It could just be a simple on off switch, that ties to a Power Generator… That has the ability to trigger objects as if a person clicked it. To prevent server issues, you could limit the number of switches per character…But also allow them to be combined with other peoples switches, who have permission or alts… Works in other games without too much problem… Should here as well. It will add a lot of function, creativity…etc… Also what about traps for mobs etc… Maybe even a craftable items that is like a lure.
I love building stuff, and I love building things that serve some purpose, so I love anything that adds options for more complex and interactive builds.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned server issues. I don’t know how great of a load this imposes, but from other descriptions of server loads, anything that could trigger responses, or multiple responses across many blocks or possibly a chain reaction would probably not be great for the servers. That said, I hope the devs find a way to get us more interactive features, one way or another.
I know the devs said something as advanced as thatcan’t be implemented due to server load, however, individually designed programmable stuff might be able to be added, simpler stuff, doors, etc.
Keep in mind how bad the lag is right now and that’s without any programmable stuff…
The lag is because they are trying to be cheap, and have each worlds allocated memory stretched too thin. They either need to A. Make their code more efficient, or B. Increase each worlds allocated RAM. It isn’t the netcode that is the issue. People keep blaming their network… The issue is, the server gets a huge spike in information, server sided… Which it can’t process quick enough, which causes a delay in the packets being sent to US the client… Which then causes it to appear as a network issue. It isn’t though. Also if other games… Who are always hosted on private servers can implement said features, surely a company raking in money both from game sales, and a inside game shop can afford the necessary resources to implement something as said previous. Also, if they make it “Cool” enough… It will separate this game from the others… Further increasing income. As stands, the game is little more then a clone which offers very little, if anything new.
If they are concerned with server issues, make it so players can’t make unlimited loops. Also, limit the number placed… capped VIA a Skill tree.
I feel like you couldn’t possibly know whether or not anythin’ you’ve said is true unless you worked there.
You can tell based on how the Hic-Ups act. If it was a network issue, it would be constant… Never ending… However it is, random. While you’re right, I can’t be 100% sure. I however, can be happy with my hypothesis. If you have any evidence to the contrary, by all means share it. IF you don’t, maybe you have evidence supporting it so I can upgrade it to a scientific-theory? Don’t tell me, do I need to explain the difference between the two?
No, it’s just the assumption that the devs are “raking in money” that people keep assuming that threw me off.
i may got solution for elevators in beta i had water elevator if they just change to fluid to be transparent and less dense it could serve is elevator fog our something
They need to be hiring Minecraft modders. Get RWTema on the payroll
