I can see exactly what you mean. In France, we have a precise term for this: “fumigène”. Devices used for shows or atmosphere in night clubs

Gear that could generate particles depending on the chosen theme would be a very good idea. The particles would be dispersed in the space of one piece at a time.
To make with goo for example …
