Someone nicely gave me a set of high end chisels (wont say who so he doesn’t get harassed)
I can’t seem to figure out which one I use to bevel all four corners so it has 8 sides.
Is this possible? If not, I protest.
Not possible for 1 block. Its easiest to think if each block of being made of 8 smaller block which you can remove.

Just like Cakengrad said, imagine that each block is actualy 4x4 voxels.
in which case you need to chisel them into the shape in the picture.
For example, you should bevel in the directions of the arrows
You can get an octagon from 4 blocks which ends up being 1.5 blocks in diameter…

2x2 pillars do look good, you just need bevel chisels (iron is ideal)

If you have 2X2 so 4 in total, if you use an iron chisel on the outside that creates a pillar look.

Here is what I did for pillars. 2x2 sedi chiseled the corners with a gold chisel
I used the rock so as not to get lines. you can do the same with the meta brick and it looks nice.
