We’re discussing city layouts right now. How the city should be organized. So far, we’ve agreed upon districts, where builds of a certain category will go in groups near each other. Ex, buildings for trade will be in an area near each other, buildings for crafting in another area, and so on.

Ok,can you change the spawn point?
Not at the moment. But you can change the generator seed a few times to find another variation that you’re more happy with. But note that subsequent changes to the world config will have an effect on the generation. Probably best to wait until the world is online then do some exploration.
More or less, yes. I don’t mean for the city to be square or dull, so much as for the main street to run straight down the center of the city with the palace at one end, and the main gate at the other. The relationship of the spawn point, city edge, and palace are like what I was trying to convey.
I think personally, as a non builder, that there should be sort of blocks that people can use for grappling hooks, like instead of having a tram you could build ‘‘hook spots’’ which allowed people to move quickly through the city if they so desired.
These are amazing do you draw them?
Or we could just have tall builds.
Or we could make it purposely a feature of the town
Assuming you mean tall buildings as on the side of the road and then a road through, good job swinging forward by hooking to a building on the side. these 2 things arent connected.
Like a grapple hook rail over/along the main streets? That would certainly add some convenience.
Well that is how i saw it happening, not sure how easy/hard it is to make though.
Could be as simple as a floating rail over the road, or as complex as giving buildings overhangs to grapple to. No problem.
I would propose it being made in glass though, it might make it a bit harder to see, but it would be kinda sad to ruin the view by making a rail like that.
for example yes, or just spots which go across the street from one building to another.
Btw didn’t you say you don’t want something like a palace?^^
I’d change the palace to a town center were everyone wants to be.
Palace is just a convenient concept for “grandiose centerpiece”. I was kinda leaning toward a huge guild embassy or senate building, but didn’t want to have to detail that concept in my dinky little drawing.
I really like the idea of a grappling hook railroad, something kind of like on the sidewalks.
I think the palace should be in the center of the city instead of at the back or front or wherever else you want, but I think the center is the best place to be
Couldn’t it just be the capital?
I’ll add grapple paths to the feature list. I will transcribe my written feature notes to this thread sometime tomorrow afternoon (12-15 hours from now). Sadly I have to go to bed and work in the morning, so Im going offline for a bit. Those of you who are just getting up, how about y’all brainstorm some districts, buildings, and features. That way we can see what kind of buildings to plan, estimate the size, and get a more detailed idea of how to lay the foundations for this city. Night!
