[Closed] Universal capital city

Yup!

Or, if those are problematic, you can email me the .js file: ian@nevir.net

desert.js (18.1 KB) oasis.js (18.1 KB)
hope this worked!

Ah damn, it looks like the forum is misconfigured to serve those files (cc @james - HTTP 422) - I can’t download 'em :frowning:

Might work if you put them in a zip

Sent them via email.

Was bored so i made a new jungle biome. I kinda like how it looks. (the white blocks are gravel blocks, I don’t know why they are there but they are)

Sand dune biome! Was playing around with distortion to get overhangs for the canyon biome but instead stumbled across this

I like the dunes, needs some variation of some kind, vegitation, rocks, something.

can you pm me a screen of the ‘Blocks’ you used to make it

Sure! Wait a sec

I love those plateau steps in the second image! I can see so many possibilities for a layered metropolis in there.

The one on the lower left would be the best. It seems to be prefectly balanced, with the trees around the mountainous instead of on them, that works well building projects, and you can go mining right there. Plus there’s a water stream down the middle, looks nice and can be used for resources. The trees are right in the middle of the mountains and stream, for wood/lumber. It’s the best by far,all you really need is right there.

Nah, those are all excellent landscapes! #1 and #3 both lend themselves well to building a city though.

Edit: is it possible to change the capital spawn location after the world has been launched, or is it permanent?

Here’s some tweaks to @KKBell’s pillars in the dunes, with some shrubs to keep things interesting:

Adds some nice variety to the desert biome! (note that the pillars also drop down a a ways, sometimes far enough to reach water

That’s the drop function in action! It takes blocks that don’t have enough support under them, and converts them into gravel on the ground (based on the drop slider on the biome)
