Color Cycling Exo

It’s been awhile since we got a special Exo I was curious about if @jon-eric can summon exos maybe like a “color cycling” exo I know many players would love to see that

Should have popped right after Valentines guess they didn’t set dates for it.

Looking at the previous years, it’s usually around the Boundless birthday. Looking, we get about 1 per year in the past 4-5 years. The last one we had was in Sept. so been about 6 months.

That was because Tiggs ran an extra one.

would be nice to have bunny shaped Oorty as addition to xmas, halloween and valentine themed ones
but waiting for real Easter event to be developed we really can get use of color-cycling exo

I bet I can do that. I think the “birthday world” is the color-cycling one. I can schedule that to appear this weekend, I think. Boundless still occasionally throws me a curve ball when I try and adjust the schedule at the last minute. :grinning:

I think that world still has a bunch of "3"s to celebrate Boundless’ 3rd birthday.

There are only three special worlds. If someone is interested in figuring out how to use the Boundless World Builder, it might be possible to create more or update the existing ones. It looks like there’s even a GitHub repo setup to accept community contributions, which contains those three special worlds.

Color me interested, I like this. Maybe some of us can play around with making a few planets for different holidays, pastels for Easter, red, white and blue for 4th of July, Christmas planet, etc. etc.

Sounds fun… Im so there.

I wouldn’t be opposed to just letting ALL boundless members have access to the world builder. Just a nice tool for those that didn’t back the game when it was Oort Online.

oh Halloween world was 1special world with Halloween themed colors, it wasnt color-cycling, just handpicked colors full of rare shadow and dark colors

for color-cycling birthday world is better with those awesome premade boxes,
Valentine exo has no cloudtop and umbrella trees, no foliage farm there

if i can ask someone familiar with world builder - i think Oortians had access to it, to build color-cycling exo with gleamballs, cloudtops, dragon nests spongeballs, growth carpets, basket trees, tall twisted trees sorounded with waxy foliages, mosaic flats  i think i described all best for farming biomes

I haven’t figured out exactly how early I have to update the schedule before a world spawns. The system seems to expect 48-72 hours notice for new planets or they get skipped over. So I was erring on the side of later. I think it’s going to show up in 6.5 hours.

I know i probably shouldn’t hijack topics here, but @jon-eric is there any chance you could also figure out how to generate some new maps? We have this here that’s still live, but the last update we got is in 2020 → https://maps.playboundless.com

I went scouring through this, just because i was wondering if we could actually easily update the “3"s that spawn. From what I can tell, the logic for those 3"s” is in This file and Also this one. The problem is that it seems like the actual logic to spawn the three’s will be actually in the code, since it mentions “blockMeta” and “blockTypes” that seems to have no reference anywhere else in the repo.

I could also be wrong, but that’s where my search ended.
