Communication between players

I do seem to be in the minority, but I don’t like the idea of using the tokens to limit chat. Especially considering the suggestion below regarding out of game chat. Saying that you could PM someone through the forum but it being limited in game would make no sense to me.

No opinion either way.

I’d certainly be in favour of that. I think it could be quite beneficial to have something like that.

At this stage I’d say treat it like most other games, through support tickets.

Maybe only be able to PM them if you both have the other on your friend list. This could be extended to the website if the integrated chat system is added.

1: People who have your player token should be able to do a long range ‘‘whisper’’ not sure about group talk

Nonfriends shouldnt be able to whisper you. all they can do is use ‘‘Say’’ or whatever else there is for close proximity.

Guild chat is something im split on, because although it is convenient, i still think it would be cooler if you had to make a physical guild house. to talk personally you should have the persons player token. a guild chat could be a token that takes some time and some rare mats to make, and each person who has such a token equipped can see guild chat

Offline people should only be able to read the physical mails, if a player you whisper is offline you just get a message saying ‘‘this player is offline’’

2: whispers should disappear, mail should be kept in a mailbox for 30 days or you can take it out to get a physical copy. could be cool if you made physical contracts you could sign and keep (might be kinda useless so meh)

3: would be awesome if you made an ipad/android app later on that would show you your characters stats/achievement, and which allowed you to chat with anybody on your friendlist (those tokens you have) or your guild chat if you have that token

4: if you follow the previous systems, the only thing a person who doesnt have your player token can do is to walk up in your face and go nuts, in that case you can just mute him

5: i would say a mature language filter, so basically swearing, it would be on for default but could be taken off in options. not much more you can do, they are the ones moving around online and you cant really limit it that much.

one thing you could do though was to allow a person so set a ‘‘minor’’ option on, which keeps the maturnity filter on and other things you feel is needed for this. it can be removed and added at any time, but it requires a playerchosen password, i have noticed alot of parents who want to play with their kids. then it would be their responsiblity to take the minor option on.

oh and make a system that keeps @zeathoros atleast 200 meters away from any character with the minor option on xD

i could also right now send you a picture of justin bieber, then i should clearly be able to do that ingame too right? xD

but no i hope you get the point. that you can pm someone outgame is not something you can stop.

5: We do not need protected chat, we need altered chat. Instead of “I’m going to kick your *** you little ****,” we should put “I’m going to kick your donkey you little puffball.”

It’s a win for everybody :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

just have a list of flower names

‘‘I’m going to kick your rose you little lily’’

also for the app we should have something like an extended ‘‘GA.ME’’ tab both ingame and outgame. would be really cool to have as a sort of calender, only people who have your player token plugged into the system can see your global feed, we discussed it a looong time ago me and some of the other players, and we thought it would be great to have.

I really don’t get your point. Something like you suggest would be covered by the spamming, griefing or abuse section the same as it is in just about every other game.

its your argument, ‘‘if i can do it outgame it doesnt make sense not being able to do it ingame either’’ well… out game i can send you pictures, voicechat, heck even use webcam. by the same logic you should be able to do that ingame too yeah?

but we have had this discussion before, so lets just agree on the fact that you are indeed a minority since you dont want limitations on chat ingame

i personally think it would be awesome to only be able to do longrange chat with people you have actually made and who have given you a token, rather than just spamming global chat (as we discussed that you wanted) for everything.

This thread is about communication between players. We’re not talking about sending files, webcam, etc… That isn’t at all relevant to this topic.

Wow there is a troll on here lol, noticed in a lot of forum topics…

@Zouls, you’re REALLY Blowing this out of proportion… And in an inappropriate manner. Can we not talk about mature content on the forums? Even if it is to take a point to an extreme which isn’t necessary at the moment.

Perfectly Valid, I agree.

Now back to the topic at hand. While I agree that communication with a peer is a viable option, I am going to stick with my communication platform idea. I think long range contact should be far harder in game which makes this device a good concept to replace people simply running around talking to one another with some kind of telepathic link.

I must teach the little children how to sacrifice their parents so they can become better human beings. Why prevent me from doing a generous service for the little ones? :smiling_imp:

Perhaps instead of a radio, the token idea can be merged with the messenger birds in replacement of the radio? Im not sure how it would work. Just a thought.

Would the birds be customizable? Like you can have different colors or different types of messengers? Like some people would have types of bugs to deliver messages to baby dragons or fireflies?

you really do like birds XD

i think it would be better to go with the standard ‘‘oh you can talk to him telepathically’’ if we have a token there is also a good lore reason for it.

as i said, although it sounds like a good idea with an animation like that it just generally isnt, since people dont care after they have seen it a few times. having some sort of animation for things that rarely happens such as mail would be neat, but seeing the same animation 50 times within 5 min, people are just not going to care.

but i admittedly do also like it, especially since it would be a good way to customize it and add some cool stuff for the cash shop, i still just think it shold be physical mails only, but not long range ‘‘whisper’’ option.

the point is that you cant prevent anybody from talking over skype or pm over the forums, but that doenst mean that there should be no limits ingame just because you cant limit it outgame, hence your quote

so it makes absolutely. perfect sense

Ah you are right apologies, i guess that was too much, i changed it to something more appropiate yet even more horrifying

OH MY GOSH! That adorableness!

PMing a friend or guild member shouldn’t be super difficult a simple add to friends list or join a guild should let you PM them

Something simple and nice

Love guild chat that should just be a tab to switch to if the player chooses am sure the trade chat could work the same

the Bird idea sounds cool i think it would be nice if your sending a note or a small item XD maybe have a small delay on that would be fine but the note could be something longer then a PM or like a heads up to a event or something like that when the player isn’t online. Possibly a guild vote or something
