This is sort of an old topic but it would be really nice to have natural ps4/5 controller support on Steam.
Using Steam input doesn’t work and all buttons have to be mapped manually. I’ve done it before but I won’t again. Currently only support for xbox controls.

from what i was told now you cannot use ps controllers on any pc/steam games due to ip port coding changes, even if you somehow will be able to overcome it its simply unplayable becouse controller just acting weird making uncontrollable moves and not reacting at inputs

I use DualSense without any issues on PC. I use Rewasd to map DualSense to Xbox controller and it works fantastic. Same controls as on PS4/5.

try antimicrox controller to keyboard can configure it into very detailed settings
