I often use a controller to play in the evenings but I find using farms pretty tough as I always seem to deviate off centre.
Obviously want to able to go at some speed like when I use a keyboard and mouse.
Usually use a max speed brew too so want to make the most of it.
I usually keep a block in one hand so I get the orange highlight which helps but I still veer off course.
I’m not sure if ps4 users encounter the same issue but looking for suggestions
I have the same problem, PS4. Can you walk with a keyboard on PS4? Also turning off head bob helps.
When walking across a 1 block wide bridge i would almost always fall off. I used to walk looking down at where my feet were going; now i look as far ahead as i can and am able to run at a pretty good clip. Don’t if that will help u or not.
I use an xbox controller on my PC. I usually run backwards if I have to place a bunch of blocks or something quickly. I am probably not going as fast as you are though.
Yup when running at top speed over my farms (am on PS4 with controller) I at times appear to be drunk
Yes you can, exactly the same as on PC…
Yeah I use an Xbox controller with pc too to get a break from the keyboard.
@AeneaGames you nailed it! Drunk oortian
If you’re using the steam big picture controller configuration thing I think it has deadzone adjustments. It might only be available when you’re mapping the thumbstick to wasd, so you might lose the ability to do precise angled movement with it on.
Yeah, this bugs me, it’s a pain in the ass really.
A big QoL improvement would be a ‘lock to compass point’ button/option.
Thanks mayu will give it a try.
@fidach great idea lock cardinal direction would be awesome without having to creep
I use a controller but grew up in Legendville lol
Turns out there are a bunch of players who have set controller configurations, some which have mapped the wsad keys to the left stick which works a charm moving in straight lines!
“Controller users how do you walk in a straight line?”
Make sure u did not consume any alcoholic beverages looooool
Those configs on steam were all for steam controllers but will try out post feedback here.
From big picture mode enter the boundless game settings menu then controller configurations and you can browse peoples configs or just modify your own.
For those using Xbox controller I saved a new config as farming and the only thing I changed was to map the left stick for 4 way directional input and set overlap to min I tested it out and it worked perfect no deviation from straight line…but I lost the ability to adjust speed that is normally auto with how far I push the left stick. So will see if any of those steam controller configs play nice with my Xbox controller.
Yea that’s what I was afraid of, there is the simulated pressure mode where it strobes the keys more quickly depending how far the stick is pushed, but it’s really hit and miss if it works in game X. This is the downside of mapping to keyboard keys, they’re not analog.
I push the left stick forward to walk straight. How do you PC guys do it?
I saw a config where someone had defined an outer radius so if you push the stick to the max it speeds up.
A couple actually binded shift from the analogue perspective binding.
I tried editing the digital input and simply drop the overlap but it didn’t help
I dont if its less than 3 blocks wide I’m falling off, no doubt about it
I assumed oortians just had poor coordination
Coortination… im tired.
Excuses! Clearly all the PS4 players are drinking on the block.
I would swap my dpad with my stick if I needed to make sure I was straight. However I have an Astro C40 TR controller.
I dont have a problem walking straight on ps4
