My list of things to try just gets bigger and bigger^^

omg i love those you get huge packets of them in B&M

I’ve never had cow heart

But I’ve had Venison heart, and I remember liking it

I really like sushi/Sashimi

And I’ve eaten some of the things My Mom makes for herself
(She’s allergic to Milk, wheat, eggs and everything that shares proteins with them IE beef, chicken, turkey, cheese the list goes On and ON and ON)

I love Haggis, Tablet and Parma Violets (Cant actually get um in Australia!)

Yeah @Squidgy is right vegemite is really salty and that is the best and only description I can think of, and the trick is to use lots of butter with not too much vegemite, it evens out really well. Witchetty grubs are just white wood eating grubs that do not taste like chicken but are apparently supposed to and were used for ‘bush tucker’ by the aboriginals.

These are witchetty grubs.

I’ve never had it, and never intend to, but one of my rare “got nothin I wanna do, let’s watch tv…” stints resulted in watching a “gourmet” travel to Iceland and eat fermented shark…

they apparently catch the shark, bury it for a couple months, dig it up, boil the meat about a 100 times then eat it…

yum.

Uni or urchin.

You eat the ovaries. Raw.

It’s a paste that looks like an orange tongue.

Tastes creamy and almost sweet.

Blood sausage was also really good. I tasted it from a restaurant I worked at. The uni was from the restaurant next door, same owner, and I also worked there. The blood sausage I had really just tasted like herbs.

Another one that is sorta disgusting for me is eggs. I tried ikura which are salmon eggs and tobiko which are flying fish eggs. Ikura was actually pleasant. Tobiko didn’t have much taste with the small amount I tried.

I tried duck egg, fried… Not partially developed. It was much more fatty tasting than regular eggs. Eggs generally gross me out. A human unfertilized egg is a period. And when eggs are cooked they smell sulfury which to me is reminiscent of bad farts or diarrhea. I’m just not a fan. It’s also a liquid that changes to a slimy sponge. Ew.

Tuna. Another thing that grosses me out. I can eat a tuna steak or tuna sashimi but canned or pouch tuna no way. Smells so bad. Looks nasty.

I also dislike mayo. I’d rather sub yogurt or sour cream or cream or goat cheese for anything you can use mayo in. So as you can imagine, tuna salad gives me the heaves.

Strangely, the only pickle I don’t like is cucumber. Again with the tuna salad. Pickled mushrooms however are probably one of the best I’ve had.

Food is weird.

A hearty meal thats very oaty. It’s hard to describe though! It just tastes like comfort.

Wasabi is good in small doses. Great with sushi or alternatively wasabi peas.

It depends on the region. In Switzerland it is just blood, cream and spices. (At least as far as I know^^)
I think in every other part of the world its blood, pieces of other meat and spices. Sometimes there might also be oat flakes in there.
But british, german and australian people surely know more about their regional blood sausages.

We in Sweden have sur strömming i dont like it some like it but other countries dont like it they dont even have a transalation fir this food
