The problem is theres a bunch of players that are never going to ever invest a single cent into the game… which sorta loops back to your other “where are the other exos” post…
giving more plots is just an even bigger incentive to never actually buy cubits since the game pretty much gives you every opportunity to not fund it…
The goal of the game (Hopefully) isn’t to drive micro transactions. I hope they’re not intentionally being withholding on plots to drive MT sales.
Personally I strongly object to MT that affect game balance. If they released cosmetics as MT I would love to support the devs. I bought lots of rocket league, overwatch and tf2 skins, plus a bunch of fortnite stuff (I am so ashamed). I bought deluxe, and a copy for my PC I never use, a Xmas gift for the devs and if it ever goes on sale on PS4 I’ll be buying copies for friends. But I go out of my way to never buy MT that support devs involving money in gameplay/game balance. I also hope MT sales numbers don’t drive exo spawns (I don’t think that they do).
Plot balance isn’t about transactions, but providing a choice of your level up bonus. Originally you automatically recieved 10 levels per level after 50. Which wasn’t very beneficial for hunters and non-builders. No matter how many plots builders have, we always want more.
A lot of focus lately is on how people want roads between locations. If it was really about ease of access it wouldn’t matter if it was their roads. For example, mall and city “owners” don’t have to own every road in the town. If they spread it out, it wouldn’t be as plot intensive for them. However, with that comes trust and loss of full control.
tldr
but in general plotting is plotting, don’t go right up against someone without talking to them (preferably) and it doesn’t matter if the plots are empty or filled, just that they aren’t “snaking” around and eating more plots than they should be.
