Wanting to use ice blocks for floors or walls. Will they melt like in other games.

No they don’t melt. They might in lava but haven’t tried it.
When used as flooring they will be slippery just like when you find it in the wild.

Now that is a good tip, slippery is not good for old hips
Nobody attempting to test if ice melts in lava has survived due to the slipperiness.

Ice does melt if placed directly in lava, but not if placed above or next to.
Someone did survive!

Fun fact, i didn’t die, i placed it to try and get to some hard coal, but as i was starting to move forward (since ice makes you pick up speed slower) i didnt have time to get to the block before it melted
