Does anyone know how to open DDS image files?

A long time ago I asked about making more texture maps for decorative blocks and James said have a go at it. I can’t figure out how to open or convert the image type easily. I’d post one but it’s blocked. You can find them in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Boundless\assets\textures\blockatlas”
I was going to mess with “gm_mm_69.dds”

There’s addons for photoshop and gimp, most likely other image editors too but I haven’t used those.

Heh yeah my main laptop is broken, I only installed illustrator on my backup.

The NVIDIA plugin for Photoshop is what I use :3

If you’re looking to convert them to other formats en masse, I use XnConvert, which also gives you a whole bunch of other image manipulation functionality too.

I also have the NVIDIA DDS Thumbnail Viewer for Windows 10 installed, to make previewing them at a glance easier.

Ha ha, funny to see a thread about this here, now.
I’ve spent this week working on DDS texture, pulling my hair out trying to make them work. The project I was working on uses Diffuse maps, ORM maps and Normal maps. I was trying to figure out the right DXT5 setting for export them. In-game, my texture always appear way darker than they are in Photoshop, so I’m clearly doing something wrong. ^^
The NVidia DDS plugin has so many little settings, it’s crazy.
