Dual Universe: Minecraft/Boundless in Space

Dual Universe finally released on Steam. I was excited for it. But after looking at the reviews, it seems to be a hot mess. After 5+ years in development, the reviews suggest that it’s no where close to reaching it’s original vision.

TLDR: You can build things. But that’s the extent of it. The PVP content isn’t there. There are no NPCs or any PVE content to interact with. You’d probably like this game if you don’t mind trading and building. But the kicker is that you need to pay a subscription fee of $15/month as well since it’s an MMO. The devs have a long way to go to reaching the vision they originally painted.

Suffice to say, major disappointment.

It really does seem very difficult to build and succeed with a voxel-based MMO game. That’s the thing I’m learning with games like DU, Boundless, and others.

There are other upcoming releases like Bitcraft (very similar to Boundless) that’s currently in the works.
