It looks like some guy crouching to take a shot from a sniper or something.
Thanks for the comment. It actually does, Funny enough!Well i guess that throws my plans out of the window
Have to admit, My first impression was it too. It gave me the impression of a dwarf from warhammer40k, with kind of rifle on his arm and a darth vader mask…
But I like the way you manage to shape everything that detailed with voxels
Think I will test that somewhen. I guess I can win advantages of the slopes so that I need at least half of the space.
Yea totally. As towards the new one though does it look at least better? Or do I still have a long way to go?
Much more clear! dwarf with axe. Looks good
Lol, sorryyyyy!!!
The axe looks much better now. But the face looks like a banshee xD
@Smoothy If you can even get 3/4 of the size I’d be impressed.
But try it and tell us what you find out^^
Its fine, was looking for these kind of comments anyway to see how to improve
Ok , if possible could you please say what exactly you don’t like about the face ie shape features etc… Plus is it just the face? is the body and arms OK now?
It’s mostly the face because for me it just looks like a screaming banshee.
As I said the axe looks much better even if it is a bit big. The biggest problem is that the dwarf is kneeling. So you have to cram a lot of details and features in a small space. You used different stones which makes it easier to differentiate armor and body but from afar it still lacks some detail.
But I can’t really say how to make it better^^ I was never that good in building organic things myself.
Thank you for replying. I think I’ll maybe try building bigger and adding more detail as you said.
I think it would look better if you add a helmet or some sort of headgear. The statue as it is now looks weird because the face itself is the size of the entire head (i.e. the eyebrows are at the topmost portion of the head).
Try to add something on the side of the head also like ears, hair, or parts of the helmet so that his face won’t look like a banshee as what others have pointed out XD. ( I prefer to call it a balloon-like face. Sorry for this one ).
PS: You really chose a difficult posing for a medium size strucutre
Thanks for the feed back. I have listened and learned and now I’m am building bigger and have completely scratched my design of crouching and have gone for standing whilst holding the axe in front of him. I think my problem is I was trying to copy a picture and I work best from my head, if you know what I mean. Im not trying for an excuse my work was bad and I admit it but I think I found the solution
Nope! It’s definitely an acceptable reason. It happens to me all of the time when I have the designs and plans in my mind but the outcome can’t seem to match the one I envisioned (Mostly when drawing) .
Goodluck for you second build!
Thanks, totally my reasoning! I had concept designs all drew out but it didn’t turn out as good as my drawings. So time for improvisation.
I think the axe looks better, though the beard in the version definitely looked much more friendly, still being grim. Now it reminds me of the face of a Creeper from Minecraft. Not bad, but the beard was more suitable.
Thanks for the feedback. As I have stated now going for a totally different aspect and design. Will take your opinion forward as well on the beard. Thanks again
I just recently edited the images, but it didn’t update larest activity though. Iwas wondering if you wouldn’t mind checking out the new creation. It is now astanding dwarf, but it is still under construction [i haven’t nad much time lately],i know by now i’m probally tirring you and if you can’t find the time, that’s fine or even if don’t wan to look. Would be much appreciated if you could. Thanks
