My honest opinion? The one person who are seeing to it that shop owners get footfall because they are searching for something end up with nothing in some aspect. I go to the G. Mall (can’t remember how to spell it) to see what is there. Go in all the shops. They all get footfall from my visiting their shop.
Me, sometimes I can find what I want and get a good price for it. Today, I got nothing. Couldn’t find what I need or felt the price was too high for what I can afford to pay. So, I am out of time that I could have spent gathering, crafting or mining and nothing to show for it. Why bother to go to the shops if I can’t find what I want/need at a price I can afford? I’d love to buy some of the items listed as you need this to make that. But some of the prices are still too high. A teaching pie for 1,000c. 5k coin for some brew to help you do better in mining. Those are outrageous prices and I waste my time looking to see if I can find something I can afford in some shops in some area on planets.
I do deserve something for seeing to it that you do get footfall from my wasted time looking for items I need. I desperately need the green and purple yams and berries. But I can not afford to pay 100 or more coins for just one. Bark, I need that and also milk glands, but can’t afford the prices. This is something that the devs can help with, increase the drop amount and let them be on the level two and three planets. Not every player is going to be able to go to those planets. I never will, I’m just not good enough to be able to handle them. Not whining, just a fact and I know that.
Players need coin to spend, they need to feel that getting out and going from shop to shop will get them something instead of nothing. To increase the economy there needs to be a increase of coin for the players, not just the shop owners who want the footfall. Not all are greedy s o bs, some are, but finding the ones who aren’t is so much time consuming that players give up. I love exploring, but I’m flat out tired of going from planet to planet, trying to find settlements and cities that sell items at good prices.
I know they can record where players go, that Susie Q and Johnny B went to so and so’s shop, so it would be nice if they could come up with something for the player also. Perhaps a travelers reward. Visit so many settlements, travel through so many regions, go to so many planets, heck, count the players steps, something. Put a limit on it, but they get something for doing that. They seem to have some knowledge or recording that shows when a player goes to a shopping area because there is a limit on how much footfall the shop owner gets for that person visiting a shop.
I’ve stated this several times, we need quests, we need ruins to search and get loot from. Types that can be used in crafting so all level of players, from those on level 1 and up can find them and use them or get coin so they can buy what is needed. Give players coins, not just shop owners footfall, so we can spend them at the shops.
