Elevators inside of my building

Can you imagine that i HATE those stairs which can only be built by having a hole in the ceiling. When I run around in Therka Marketplace or perhaps in Pixelgate, I have to watch out that I do not suddenly fall down to the next level of a building, because someone put that ugly hole just somwhere in my way ! And in my house it was raining / snowing into my living room because of such a stupid staircase, until I decided that I do not want to climb up to the next level anymore for some birds watching.

I do not expect an ELEVATOR do be coupled with sophisticated “scripting” to make it work - SCRIPTING will be another topic which I REALLY WANT, but I am patient. A trivial (from my point of view) solution may be to reuse the mechanism of the warp block to link two blocks inside of a house (only allowed for ONE beacon controlled area) so that if I step on that block, interact with it with “E” key, I will be transported to the other block.

A limitation may be that the two blocks must be vertically aligned.

I currently have no simple solution for an elevator to allow multiple stops, but I am sure someone comes up with an idea.

You can do what most people do, put a trapdoor on the end of the staircase

Emmm… I don’t know if you’re enjoying the game or what. There’s far better ways to express ones feelings. At this point your post are just rage filled comments.

A detailed idea of your problem and suggestion may be beneficial.

The hole is not in your way, the hole doesn’t move. Watch before you walk, game should have taught you that already.

You’re not patient, Caps don’t help your arguments, sentences and constructed ideas do.

If you used warps, you’ll have to continue placing them all the time, and using coins, and well for using portals, you’ll have to get the cons and pros of it.

Or neat idea, use a grapple.

You’re allowed to share your ideas and thoughts, doesn’t mean you can be as rude as you want.

Ladders should be making an appearance at some point in the future too. Couple those with a trap door and you should have no more rain in your house

I’m not so sure a elevator would fit into the Boundless universe.

I’m against the elevator personally. Although I do like the idea of mini portals that can only connect to others within the same beacon plots. Could make for some really cool builds. Kinda like the portal gym in Pokémon;)

You obviously have a different sense of humour than me. I will accept that.

I did not want to “rage” - whatever that means, as I am not native English speaking. Maybe I did choose wrong wording from my limited vocabulary.

In fact I found your answer very rough and impolite. I guess I will return read-only mode in this forum, as long as we have so different opinions about wording.

Have a nice day.

Please leave it to the leaders or devs to handle potential issues in the future. This helps prevent any animosity between players.

Thank you!

My bad. I just saw too many hate posts from his end. And wanted it to stop going the wrong direction.

Just pm one of us. I usually do a good job of monitoring throughout the day, though I do miss posts from time to time

Ha Ha, I think elevators fit. I mean, if we are going to have floating Titans the size of a Castle, why can’t we make a couple of blocks float?

Would be interesting. Levitating slabs. Could give builds a bit more dynamic appeal. I’d love to see them hover down a tiny little bit when you jump on them.

They’d have to be built with parts of a titan then

that calls for magnet as mine-able stone - added during crafting process makes a floating object lol

We had a similar idea a long while ago  It was about two each other repelling components. You could build magnetic rails with the in order to transport goods.

As cool as out right elevators sound, I’d rather have a basic pully mechanic that a clever player could use to make elevators. This would open the flood gates to all manner of other sandbox inventions.

and with a manually operated machine, instead of an automated machine, that would use less resources than an automated mechanism, right?

Heck if I know, you’re asking me for specifics on an undeveloped idea.

nah, speculating

Well, automated mechanics are inherently more complicated than basic manual mechanics, so yes it stands to reason that it would require fewer resources to do something manually. Unless your asking about computer resources required, in which case the simplest solution would be automatic, not mechanic.

Who knows. Not this guy
