Esc Key not exiting menus

It’s been happening to me. I’m doing something, hit esc, and it doesn’t work. I “think” i have to click on my avatar area then hit esc again and it works.

I’ll pay attention when it happens next time, to try and replicate

but does anyone experience this periodically? If you do, what is the situation?

Usually that happens to me when I hit the ~ key by accident

could be it… im so bad i hit F1 sometimes too… =P
