Example Please: How to make an AoE-Hammer

Can someone please break it down to a really simple level on what I have to use/do to make a hammer that hits more than one block?

Thank you.

Whew, tall order bud. I’ll simplify it as best i can. Two seconds.

Jiivita has a good video on the Centrafouge! It’s definitely confusing before starting to use it!

First, craft compound base which is glass, reactive lamella, and charcoal(cooked wood). Then, craft that into Pure boon compound, which is compound base and fresh vital essense. Depending on your skills you may want to craft pure boon compound 2(which give 200 points of boon in the forge but costs vigour whereas pure boon 1 only gives 100 boon points but doesn’t cost vigour). Next you’ll want to craft gum base which needs glass, syrup. and fibrous leaves. Then, craft that into special gum which is the gum base and thermal sac. After that, Resin base which is Glass, sap, and ancient vital essence. Take that resin base and craft Setting resin which is the base and flint.
Take the pure boon compund, special gum, and setting resin and place it in the Forge Deck. Then place the tool you wish to forge in it. (it wont allow you to forge without at least the boon compound AND Setting resin)
Now, here’s where things get a little tricky. Depending on your skills you’ll have a limited amount of stability and depending on the flexibility of the tool you’ll get less boon from the compounds. However, the first thing you’ll want to do is add some of that special gum. 4 pretty much guarantees that the boon added will be in the “special” class, however it depends upon your vigour. Then use the boon compounds until you run low on stability or get the boons you wish at the level you want. once done use setting resin and itll go to the Queue for x time after the queue is finished itll be in the output tab.

I’d definitely recommend watch @Jiivita’s video if this doesnt help. or find someone in game and ask them for temporary perms, and you can watch them by interacting with the machine whilst the forge something Maybe @Aridhol could help.

Also, Thank you @Stretchious for your site that i referenced for this answer, i couldnt remember all the ingredients off the top of my head

So, level one is left and right of the block you’re looking at, level two is hits the one below the block you’re looking at, Level three, i believe, is a plus sign hitting the north, south, east, west and center block. Level four is the coeveted 3x3 which hits all of the blocks around the center. and level 5 is randomly hits any bocks. The trade off is that for lv 1-4 the damage your hammer does is decreased dmg by x percent(dunno rn exact percents) lv 5 does 100% damage but hits random blocks up to the 3x3.
Hope this helps. Good Luck! Forgeing is definitely a luck thing. Not statwise just luck irl.
Edit: omitted a couple words

^ This is why I don’t use the forge. Unnecessarily complicated and nonsensical game feature.

Man I want to learn this cuz I want a “scythe” type hammer. That hits 3 in a row.

But god damn, I am stupid. I need pictures.

Yeah that seems like an extremely stretched out way to get a buff on an item…
I think the gem type items should already come with a buff… I mean there gems…
Yeah some people are rolling in gems and hoarding them like there real gems…
But that’s kinda the point of having special gem type items…
Or are they just cosmetic… like oh I got a blue hammer…
That’s kinda how it feels after reading this…

In EA for a time the gem tools did have different “buffs”. Now tho, the different gem types correlate to different stat types, like the iron hammer Vs the copper hammer. Or gold silver and titanium.

Iirc, diamond is heavy(so has slow action speed but more SMH) topaz is swift(so has high action speed but low dmg) etc

I mean more along the line of emerald sapphire topaz and diamond… there isn’t any Huge difference between the said types… a little speed here with sacrificed durability or dmg, something of the like from what I’ve scooped out in the workbench

Really all just the same hammers just different colors

At the simplest explanation, yes. No one hammer is truly different than another hammer, without forging it. It’s for balance so that players don’t only use the “best” hammer. But even as it is most people use iron, titanium, then diamond. Or they skip titanium and go straight to diamond. Forging should have a tutorial, it’s a little more complex than the other crafting in the game, but still pretty straightforward once you get used to it.

Maybe the next types of tools/weapons will have their own perks or buffs. The blink, antimatter, and… Rift(i think) tier which will come from tier 7 and 8 worlds the most dangerous or difficult.
Yes, gem is not the highest tier. You can actually put points in the epic that will, in the future, allow you to craft these tools/weapons. So in the skill tree it would be level 4 crafting of weapons, tool, or tech.

If I have time I’ll make a picture “tutorial” of all the steps and post it on here.

It seems I need way more game time like only even try this at lvl 50 kinda thing given the time to gather and the craft and then finally get to begin throwing stuff at my tool in Hope’s to get the right buff

I won’t lie, I use outside sources to help my forging, there’s no way anybody could remember all of the different ones that do what thing to each type of item. Because special gum may put aoe on hammers and other tools, but on bombs it won’t, it’ll put healing or Regen, or debug etc.
Iirc(not gonna check too tired) it’s longevity gum that puts aoe on bombs, but if you put longevity on tools you get the durability boon

Pure Boon Compound 2

  • Compound Base: Glass, Reactive Lammella, Charcoal
  • Fresh Vital Essence: Adrenal Gland (from Road Runners)
  • Pulsating Orb: Loot/drop off Fungus

Setting Resin

  • Flint (Mine rocks to get)
  • Resin Base: Glass, Sap, Ancient Vital Essence

Special Gum

  • Gum Base: Glass, Syrup, Fibrous Leaf
  • Thermal Sac (Hopper drop)

Total Breakdown on what to Collect:

  • Sand (shovel from ground)
  • Silty Soil (shovel from ground)
  • Trunks (cut trees to get)
  • Reactive Lammella (loot from fungus)
  • Fresh Vital Essence (creature loot, meat, etc…)
  • Pulsating Orb (fungus loot)
  • Flint (mine rocks)
  • Sap (cut trees to get trunks)
  • Ancient Vital Essence (fossiles)
  • Fibrous Leaves (gather from plant)
  • Thermal Sac (kill hoppers)

So if I mass collect all the above items, then I should be able to make Pure Boon Compound 2, Setting Resin, and Special Gum.
