Fists are pay-a-long-time-ago-to-win

As a matter of interest because I never see them what kind of damage does a max forged golden fist do?

So the logic is, the developers should go back on their promise that items were going to be exclusively craftable by players that bought certain packages or bought a game before release that might have never reached live? If they did this then is their promise worth anything anymore? Is the next suggestion going to be that they strip all perks for any player that bought a backer tier because some other players either want the perk or have decided that it is somehow unfair?

Some players are acting like they have never bought a game where preorders or early backers got some sort of in game item/perk. I have found this to be pretty common and never did I see the items/perks offered or given to other players later on.

Nonie married?

Noooooooooooooo

The devs never promised they wouldn’t make other fists or totems.

Going back to your example, I’ve never seen a game with preorder bonuses that were still useful by endgame.

You are correct they can make whatever other kinds of fists or totems they want, and I never said otherwise. My issue is the players that continue to want the existing perks/items made available to all players. If the developers choose to never add another fist then that is a design choice.

As far as an item being useful in endgame, I will disagree if I get a weapon as a pre-order perk then there is nothing stopping me from using it from early game to end game. It may not be the best weapon like I would argue a totem or fist are also not the best, but I can certainly use it. Just because the developers have not added a gem fist does not automatically make a gold fist or iron fist end game. They certainly do not require end game materials to make.

I think everyone would be fine with them adding new fists and totems. And it would solve this long standing complaint.

Should the devs release these items to all players? No not really , it happened to me when I played BDO, we bought the conquerors package for $100 or $150 before release which was supposed to have an exclusive outfit but a couple years in they let everyone have it. It was a dumb thing to do but people did get over it.

They really should offer a variety of fists and totems however, they’re nice tools and I’d like to see them in many designs.

If it helps iron fists and totems are pretty useless in the big scheme of things.

Iron fists might kill a level 1 mob… dont know, never bothered trying. Had an iron bow once, it was terrible.

Wayfairers totems, look good, but fire warps/revives the same as regular totems. And actual tools are much more effective to use as a tool.

Youre not really missing anything apart from braging rights, which the OG backers deserve for helping make this dream a reality.

Max dmg and max crit effect, a fully specd hunter build, and criticaling loaf will do 16k damage per shot. (Or can forge in the crit chance)

I carry one in my off hand with magnet. Its very handy (slight pun intended).

I sell them at Monstore @ TNT for about 6-8k, think the magnets sold out though, will make some more. Have a few other max dmg/range or crits there though.

It may not allow you to ‘win’ at the game, but the wayfarer totem is still an incredibly useful tool. The ones I forge for myself (or rather the ones I used to forge, because I’m on the edge of stopping Boundless for lack of proper communication and sizeable update) were as good as having a titanium shovel + titanium axe + titanium hammer. That’s less items in the inventory, which is a big win in my book.

I’d love to be able to craft a titanium totem which would do the same as the ones I forged, and which would cost more to make than the regular tools. It would still be worth it.

If there was a “premium DLC” on the store to buy now and get the wayfarer totem recipe and other bonuses that veterans used to have, I would’ve bought it, and I would still buy it under certain conditions.
But holding onto these possible tools because elitism is good, that sucks.

There’s always gonna be someone saying “I can craft them and I sell/give them”, but that doesn’t solve this core issue.
Sooner or later, a good chunk of these players will stop playing the game.

And the problem solves itself because none will have access to p2w features

I wish there would be more fist and totem available from different materials and for all players.

Will deff come grab a couple of these

You prefer magnet or crits? Magnets are great in the off hand of course but you need to eat a loaf/pie to get the crit chance to 100% to get that 16k every time (i think its 50% chance by default). If we drop the magnet though the fist can have 100% crit chance and max the damage every time on its own.

Ill make some more tomorrow so happy to do whichever you like.

I bought the game before it even had a name, before any other “editions” were available, and the developers were still asking us what direction we wanted the game to go in. I didn’t get access to any of these perks, like being able to craft wayfarer totems.

There was ample opportunity, throughout development (before release), to upgrade to a higher tier backer level though. Originally I bought Explorer level, which is what you have, but I decided to upgrade my backer tier to get more.

The issue wouldn’t be that some people have access to it, but that all people don’t have access to it.

There is no reason for everyone to have them, I mean we baked the game early and got some perks those should stay only available for us.

Bringing gem and lucent variants available for everyone is a differen thing tho.

I’m not saying “give the backer stuff to everyone for free”. Gem/Lucent totems/fists would be fine for me too.
But what would be so wrong if there was a way for current players to buy a DLC to get what people like you got by backing (not baking :p) the game?
The real difference would be that you guys got it before everyone else could. It’s obvious a lot of people (me included) would’ve backed the game had they known about it.
In the end, a DLC like that would mean more money for the devs, so that’s a win-win. If you’re against it, you’re basically against people supporting the game further.
