Well if you can crank out high end stuff 9 at a time all the time with no defects/quirks, then I commend you my friend
I am a lone wolf, so no guild for me. I like doing things on my own and Iām not embarrassed to sell defected tools but thats just me. If I was rich, I would not worry about losing mats all the time but I work incredibly hard for my stuff and losing it so easily because of wonky forge rng and other things is hard to swallow sometimes.
I would rather have defects with high speeds and high damage at discounted prices rather than quirks with low speeds and wonky things that make using the gear a complete nightmare, but hey, to each his own
Call me crazy, but i would rather play a game where you start out making wonky things and as you level up can start cranking out high end stuffā¦
Even with out defective gums there is zero āskillā in playing the forge slot machine as far as im concerned its basically gambling (could we get some casino games then).
you can sort of influence the outcome but unless there is only 1 thing on that you are still flipping coins and opening loot boxes to get your Hammer #1 or hammer #2 with the only difference being which boxes get checked.
I completely agree with you @xyberviri, thatās why I guess we have to keep pushing devs to tweak the forge just by a little bit (not eliminating rng all together) so it becomes a little more skillfull and not just a game of roulette.
Thats why I mentioned what I did in my OP because just a few little things like that could completely change the game and not destroy everything they built for us
Well if it isnāt the man from the shadows! Ahaha, uve got better luck than me Mr. Ghandy man. Trust me, the forge is not how it was before I left and u left, seems like its worse imo.
Idk maybe you can pop back in, meet me at the forge and try for yourself lol, would be great to see ya
lol⦠these days it does feel like not only having to tip someone for the forging itself, but that you should really pay them a hazard fee also given the hairpulling lottery this has been the past year.
Think I last played about 6mth ago and was forging for myself then. Certainly isnāt fun.
I heard that some of the new planned changes to levelling are going to make it a lot more difficult too. Definitely an obstacle to playing again as I need to start from scratch on pc from ps4 (or get lucky and find a ps5 lol)
you need to be 179 to be max level after the patch, thats like 400 today. but as long as you have 100 you should be fine, they are just unlocking the ability to use more points after 100 if i remember right
Plots are required for building, not forging. Levels 1-50 cost the same XP and give up to 5x more skill points since you can use all points on all pages.
I think itās level 50. I believe at 50, you can do all sheets at 100 points in the new system, and the xp is the same. Above 50 has higher xp cost to level, though.
But none of this is particularly related to forging defects.
So you guys are saying you think there will be changes in the forge and exactly how so? Or just having to be a higher level to be able to forge the same way as now?
no changes in the way forging is done, its just harder to level after 50 so if you are getting 50+ boxes for plots and the 4 skill points, thats what will be harder to get but its up in the air cause people were upset. also the number of skill points and cubits you are getting how and when is up for change to.
but forging it will probably make it easier to get into since you can just use another page and dont have to waste skill points.
If you were making bombs with a specific quirk for some reason, you will have a slightly harder time since the block protection quirk is being added, but Iām not seeing anything else changing forging at all.
IMO, only the cubits is likely to change. The skill points changes (2 per level over 50, harder to level) are still very clearly making skills easier to manage over lvl 50. The cubits and plots is⦠a different story.
I think the defects continuing to spin even after the debuff is removed is sort of meant to balance the fact that you can remove that debuff after applying corr compound and avoid the defects entirely.
I kind of think of defects like a rot⦠if you use a compound with defect points in your slider, that rot spreads. If you use a few gums after a corr compound and never let those defect points take root, you can avoid it.
Itās frustrating but I think it sort of balances that āexploitā.
