Oh I wasn’t saying this was necessarily an exploit. Just responding to his specific claims of “every game has exploits and people make videos of them all the time” just saying In general exploiting exploits is bad and people shouldn’t be surprised if they get banned for taking advantage of exploits
I think that depends on the kind of exploit but we’re splitting hairs here. I think we all know not to do bad things.
Here is one approach.
There are 50 worlds with 256 altitude and (2304*2)^2 area.
Every block gets a bit which is 0 or 1. 0 if not placed by player. 1 if placed by player.
Upon interaction, exp is determined by whether this bit is 0 or 1.
Total storage size:
50 x 256 x (2304 x 2)^2 bits = 33 Gigabytes.
Here is another approach.
Suppose you just want to store the list of player-placed blocks outside of beacons.
All possible coordinates are somewhere between 1-256 x (2304)^2=5435817984. This is a little larger than 2^32 so maybe I did something wrong with the possible coordinates… but lets assume you need 64 bits per coordinate entry. If less than 1/64 of the world is comprised of placed blocks, this actually uses less data.
There already is a player_placed_x item label/property on some things.
I believe there’s a player placed label for plants, right?

The answer is 42? ![]()
Test:
Gather whole wild rosetta plant = 0 dmg, 0 xp
Place & gather whole rosetta plant = 0 dmg, 0 xp
Gathering = 0 xp
Harvest wild rosetta plant = 870 dmg, 11 xp
Place & harvest rosetta plant = 870 dmg, 0 xp
Harvesting wild = 11xp.
Harvesting placed = 0 xp.
I don’t farm stuff…curious if harvesting crops gives XP.
So there’s no reason not to get XP from gathering them, right?
No all the proper indicators are in place for some time now.
Yup - harvested a Kranut - gives 8xp
There should def be XP gained from gathering wild plants imo. Maybe only certain ones give XP? I only tried one plant on a low tier planet.
Pretty sure harvesting never gives xp
