Anyone still wondering if a T6 hunt is too much for them? Please don’t worry - you’re in good hands with these guys! Even I’ll bring revives - and I’m notoriously selfish and NEVER bring revives :stuck_out_tongue:

I have never gone on a hunt before. I have a bit of anxiety about how I’ll do. This looks pretty exciting, though. I think I might give it a try. Unfortunately, I have plans that will keep me out until 10 - 11ish. Will I need to get into Discord, which I’ve used maybe once, in order to find out where everyone is? Is that too late to join?

Also, I’ve read through the comments about skill point allocation and the lot. I still have some questions, though.

  • I’m on a fairly tight budget. What is the minimum recommended amount of slingbows I should have for the hunt? Should I purchase multiple types? Are fists even a viable option?

  • What exactly are we hunting? Random mobs? Meteors? Everything in our way? Hehe.

  • My build is a hybrid one, but I have all of the atmosphere protections and armor/ resistance. However, I favored the damage epic over the protection epic. Does that sound like a good mix?

  • Will I be fine without any brews, bombs, and such. In other words, is it okay to just come armed with my slingbow(s)?

Okay. I will stop with the questions. Yikes.

  • you only need one. just try to stay alive if you are beginner

  • meteors and mobs defending them

  • 4 of each atmo protection, high ā€˜agility’, ā€˜luck’ and ā€˜all attributes’ (for maximum drops) any armour is good. high damage, lots of HP… your priority is atmo protection and enough speed to keep up with the group

  • 100% bring healing brews ( instant or smoothies)

  • decent grapple and lootstick are a must

Message me here an hour before the hunt if you’d like. We can meet up and I’ll give you a bow or two and brews. We can also hit up brown’s t3 hunt so you can get an idea of what it’s like.
You’ll also want to stack your inventory so that it doesn’t fill with random stuff. Put 2 stacks of 1 bone, 2 stacks of 1 tallow, 1 stack of one guts, eyes, trophy, oort, shard, etc.
do you have a lootstick?

little tip , if you find yourself with the opportunity to grapple up a tree or something that might help to avoid strong ground troops , if you are being targeted stay as close to the group as you can so they can kill it … when you grapple up to avoid the ground mobs try not to hit any cuttles cause they can hit very hard as well  … stay clear of spawn points if mobs are too strong …

These helped me when starting out on my first hunts

Apt said most other things to prepare

@Coolpants - I will have a lootstick by the time I’m able to join the hunt. I REALLY appreciate the offer for help! I’m going to shoot you a message real quickly.

@WendyVandecatsye Thank you for the tips! I imagine that all this advice will go out the window the first time I go flying across the screen courtesy of a burning-chilling-anything-wildstock.

If you want to survive and be a tank. This is my favorite setup, I’ve been able to solo t7 meteors with this.

The tankiest you can go right now I think is.

Shielding pie
5 points to both armor types
5 points to both resistance types
Health epic and health regen epic
Protection epic
Vitality 8 points
Attribute bonus 5 points
Falling armor 5 points

Oh yeah 8 points to agility too, so you can dodge

Can go tankier with rage epics and a hookshot to stick yourself to the meteor with, lol.
Fun setup

Wait … have I missed it?

Did I get the wrong time? I thought it was 1830EDT … was it 0630edt? I’m such an idiot!

EDIT - OK … Phew. I’m OK.

Right … I came here to ask … is there a perfect list of things I need in my inventory for a hunt? I always fill my bottom two rows full of stuff I think I’ll need (like a shovel to get out of trouble, n’■■■■) … but if there’s actually a truth to NOT needing all that ā– ā– ā– ā– , I’ll slim it down to maximise looting.

  • stack of bows
  • stack of grapples ( at least 2 good grapples)
  • stack of food (no buff regular food, persisting pies, starberry pies…)
  • stack of brews ( mainly healing )
  • stack of totems (including lootstick, emergency ā€˜thing hitter’ ( gleam bow totem for example)

optional:

  • healing / buff bombs
  • bow augments
  • revive augments ( used with a regular totem)

I’d bring one of each creature mat (two of bone and tallow if you like those), a stack of rev augments, 30-50 rev brews, whatever food/brews you like on top of those, damage augments if you use em, lootstick, grapples, heal bombs, and bows.

What I understood :man_student: :

What I didn’t understand  :

Heh … OK, I kid, slightly.

I get the concepts … I’m just not yet up on augments, etc.

I just have to sign a thing, do some real life stuff, then I’m going to stock up on Revive Augments, I think … So that I can at least be of value here. As I’ll stick to the edges to avoid dying TOO much.

I’ve been given the insanely kind gift of a massive stack of gem bows, so hopefully they’ll do.

I just have to respec this character to be the hunter character, I guess.

Do all level 37/38 characters have the same amount of skill points? If so, then I’ll take a basically exact build of what’s recommended to avoid me being an absolute strain on anyone’s patience, here in the hunt.

Bringing along creature mats helps for me because when hoppers pop or when people accidentally break rocks or foliage, those blocks can clog your inventory. Pre-stacking your inventory with 1 of all the drops you’d actually like to keep keeps you from having to drop those unwanted blocks during the hunt and making room.
Don’t worry about dying too much : ) just being in the party contributes by ensuring that larger meteors spawn. Even if you join just to follow and loot, you’d be helping simply by being present.

tip: hold totem in one hand, hold stack of augs in other hand, click other hand to combine aug+ totem (don’t have to open inventory to combine them, works for bow and bomb augs as well)

I mean … I literally don’t know what a ā€œCreature Matā€ is … heh.

I’m guessing it’s just another thing that drops from animals that I just haven’t encountered, yet. Didn’t know that animals kept rugs with them, though.

Oh … nice. Cheers! :thumbsupall: (it’s worth stealing that smiley from SLACK  )

I might practice in advance!

getting close to the time everyone! its about 5 Hrs till go time!
