Last night had a portal close right in front of me when it had 4 days 21 hours left of fuel. I have noticed this portal closing more often than it should
After it closed I checked it and it had 79 shards in it
Do you control both ends? Is a guild mate closing it, possibly?
Might be a stupid question but was it 200 including opening cost or 200 after opening cost was deducted? Happened to me once where i forgot to account for opening cost and i had the portal close the very next day.
Me and a few other people have also experienced portals closing sooner than they should have

This happened to me when I first started the game. I even had a good amount of shards. Only had it happen that once though. It was from Alder to Phem.
Your case it seems like for some reason it charged ya to reopen it again.
I had this happen to me as well, but for me the timer for the portal had already reached 0 before i added shards, timer updated and portal worked fine, but about 15 min or so later, it closed.
