Hey…so just curious…what are the difference between the hammer, shovel, and axe? I’ve been assuming the axe is better on trees. The hammer and shovel though seem to be both good at digging into various dirt/stone.
Yep Axes are good for trees. Shovels are for dirt, grass and mud based materials and Hammers are for rocks, gems and metals.
Follow up question, are hammers and axes equally good for fighting monsters?
Not really. Lances, slingbows and bombs will be the tools for creatures. Right now your only option is are slingbows. Lances are on the way.
A curiosity, the shovel are far better for refined stone then the hammer.
4 hit with a iron shovel, 10 with a iron hammer.
I’m also curious to know, even though maybe it’s the same amount of hits using hammers and shovels and axes on trees; will the durability loss perhaps be higher for hammers and shovels? Because obviously axes have an edge… you know… literally.
Currently they’re the same because of an update that happened that changed the system, that hasn’t been updated to be what they want.
They’re working on changing it so it’s more about the “strength” stat, in addition to the tool you use
Nice to know @Xanotos thanks a lot! We’ll see what they come up with. I sure hope we’ll get a bit more durability in all directions.
always found it funny that the fastest way to break a lantern is with a shovel
