Helix Activation

Good morning all! I have a quick question. I’ve been all over the interwebs and can’t seem to figure out how to activate a Helix. If i put it down I just get 4 very uninteresting boxes in a stack. Any help is much appreciated and we hope to see you out there!

you will need 5 of them instead of 4

You will also need coin and endeavour each week

Do they craft block by block? Trying to figure out where I lost the 5th one lol.

I’m not 100% sure, but i think a single craft yields 5

Thats what I figured too since machines work that way. About to craft a new stack.

So that should fix my activation issue at least. Lost the 5th block at some point. I’m also curious about the range of them. Are they only active in the beacon area they’re placed?

like with other multi-piece machines, helix cannot be crafted in single blocks; you always craft in in 4s (for the crafting machines) and 5 (for helix);

so you must have all the pieces to make at least 1 full helix (unless you used the crafted individual blocks as decoration around your place)

it might stack together with other machines (not sure if they do, but maybe check any other machine stacks in your inventory, crafting machine and whenever you were after you crafted your helix)

they work differently depending on which buff you activate; some are limited to guild beacons, other work all over the universe (as long as you are part of the guild running the buff and that guild is set as your primary)

examples:

  • Home Healing Buff - your character is regenerating vitality when inside its home beacon (so that one is limited to certain area)
  • Lava Protection - your character gets less damage from lava and it works anywhere as long as this buff shows in your character GUI

It doesn’t matter where the helix machines are placed - they must be placed in a plotted are of course and must be aligned to a certain guild; then any buff running using the machines, is available for all members of the guild and any limitations of the buff bonuses are based on the buff itself and not on where the helix machines are placed.

That answered my questions folks. I really appreciate the help and we’ve got our first Helix up and running!
