High Expectations = High Stress, What do you think?

I’m not usually a moaner but I’m feeling a bit depressed right now :frowning:

Chin up! They’ll be over soon.

I also hated exams at school. Absolutely no fun whatsoever.

If you expect too much from yourself or care to much if others expect too much from you then you will have stress.

I’m also studying for exams right now. (The exams will be in half a year but I’m using my semester break to learn the stuff we already had.) But I don’t care what others think and I know how much I can do. So I’m not really stressed out. Especially, because I started learning so early I feel quite confident. (For once, because normally I’m really lazy^^)

If I’m stressed it’s mostly because I just didn’t do ■■■■ and know I could do much better if I’d learned properly.

I’m not doing exams anymore, But I keep studing doing work with some homework they give me, that is my evaluation now. Also take your time, I did not like studying few years ago, I was too bad, I did not like what I was doing, but then I realized what i like to do and I just made it, and now I do and study what I like. Just relax, don’t study too much or your head will explode and you will feel nevous in the exams. I know what are you feeling trust me, I felt the same way

I always struggled in my finals and exams. I was, and am an A student all year, but when it comes to final exams I always choked and got terrible scores. It seemed that no matter how much I studied, I got D to C grades in finals. That was fine in high school, because I usually had high enough averages that I could take the hit and still come out with an A or high B, but it was still distressing, and now that I’m in college I can’t afford to flop on the finals. I don’t have to worry, however, because I figured out a trick for myself that solved all my test anxiety- I stopped caring about finals. My test grades instantly went up since I started doing this (about 3 semesters ago). A little bit of senioritis led to it in my senior year, but it’s been working great for me. I still study lightly, but since I stopped putting so much stress on myself things go much better.
TLDR: Stop spending long hours studying. DO NOT skip sleep for studying. Focus on your happiness and physical well being. Eat well, sleep well and lightly study what you need to.
I really struggled in calculus last semester, getting C grades, but when I relaxed and did the above, I got a 97 on the final. Best grade I’ve had in a math class since freshman year of high school.
