Hopefully one day I wake up an see an update

It’s honestly heartbreaking to see what’s happening to this game. It’s not just another voxel sandbox MMO it broke ground in ways no other game has. The creativity, the community, the sheer potential of what it offered… it was something special.

But now, the passion from the devs just isn’t there anymore, and we all see the writing on the wall. As much as we love this game and wish it would thrive for years to come, the truth is deep down we all know it’s not going to last another 5 or 10 years. And if you say otherwise, you’re just lying to yourself.

Still, no matter what happens, I’ll always respect what this game gave us. The memories, the friendships, the moments of awe when we saw what was possible. Everyone who’s played it past or present only ever wanted to see it succeed. It deserved better.

Saying that passion isn’t there anymore makes it sound like it was there recently. More like devs forgotten that game exists at all.

I agree on everything else

The passion left about 5 years ago with James. You know what passion is there?
Player’s passion, most of the players that continue to play I’ve found have a ton of passion for the game as I do myself, I’m continuously drawn back into the game even after I quit the game saying I’m never coming back… the passion in this community is quite strong.

To say the game will or won’t last another 5 or 10 years is pure speculation. Many people said it was going to die all the time over the past 5 years, yet here we are. On top of that, we have people from Monumental that are active, helping players and doing a few behind the scenes things.

The one thing I’ve never understood, I imagine everyone on these forums loved the game at one point or another, and if they just played the game the population would be much higher, the income for Monumental would also be higher and maybe they’d see it a worthy investment.

If you love the game or once loved, it’s still the same game you loved, just log in every once in awhile and play it, I bet you’ll still enjoy it.

I don’t know about passion, but it does scratch a building itch that no other voxel game has managed to do so far.

The dev(s) are the ones that put in the work to keep the game functional, fix issues, updates when the owner requests it, etc.

The owner(s)/publisher(s) are the ones that decide the game’s direction and fate. These are the people that decide if they will market the game, discounts, if there will be updates, and so on.

I honestly have the opposite. Old game, doesn’t have the appeal that other voxel games have, but I do hope something happens.

I hope the game is revamped and built back from the ground up. The Boundless game is over 10 years old at this point. From a business perspective…is it even worth learning, fixing, and putting money into. Probably not.

Building a new boundless game, heck yea. We still do not have a boundless replacement at all.

Minecraft? Cannot connect worlds with friends
Vintage Story, Way too hard core for most and no world regen or connected planets.
LandMark…is officially a former landmark.
Other voxel games, just don’t touch what boundless offers.

One day…one day it will be back.

DEV’s? Well we have game maintenance but no development. Activating events and such is about all. But with the player base that s left I am sure there isn’t much money for development. But a little promotion could help that a bit. There was talk about NPE but no updates on that. I just keep playing it the way it is though and still get a lot of enjoyment. I would have liked the skill page and Goo update to have been implemented but that is okay too. Just keep chugging along lol! Just surpassed a little more than 9500 hours of play time.
