When I played more actively my only role was buying and selling, with that in 1 month I made approximately 4 million.

I’m a bit late to this one, but figured I would pipe up since I see reselling has become a strategy for quite a few players.
I’ve done the resource flipping (reselling) thing for a long time, since just a few months after the game’s release. I would browse through malls and shops in Portal Seekers, getting a good idea on the prices of items and then finding the lows and selling the highs. Wasn’t very profitable at the time, but very enjoyable for me. When the knowledge tab prices feature came out, I would jump planet to planet, again doing the same. This was more profitable, but still time consuming.
When I heard about BUTT, I was somewhat afraid most people were going to pick up on it immediately and that prices would immediately smooth out, as most people would be able to check prices and price their items competitively. However, this was not the case and a lot of imbalance still existed. Partially due to BUTT not having as much original exposure, and partially due to people still willing to create that divide in prices.
So as soon as BUTT came out, there was a list of resources and items I would check frequently as I knew they often had large differences in buys and sells. I was able to make about 150k an hour on average. Sometimes more, I’ve had massive opportunities where I could make over 100k in a single flip (hopper cores was one).
My largest inflow of coin all at once, however, was from selling gleambow gleam on one of the last events before sovereign’s. I made hundreds of thousands, if not millions, farming gleambow gleam and selling it to request baskets within just a few days.
EDIT: Would also like to mention that the Compass Hub is incredible for this. You don’t know how many times I’ve had to run 1000m because I couldn’t find a shop in the local PS hub that was close to my buy or sell stop!

I just saved up 5k and opened a cafe, and over the next 3 years opened 2 more locations.

I float between 30k to 500k but never broke a million.
Either from dodge bombs events and my hyper-defensive playstyle (i keep my bombs in good shape using that) or Gleambow (i was trying to break a million but the event ended too soon, Only got around 600k then) Tried Coin Flipping before but the opportunities were too small.
y’know, if you tell people your playstyle, it isnt hard to develop a phycological profile on you.
although for the sake of dodge bombs, most people know this already; im more of a hyper-offensive playstyle. 7 dodge bomb trophies and more to come
you’ve probably seen the way I dodge bomb (dodge with no bombs) and I do it to conserve bombs a little more (So I don’t spend 14k on rift bombs for it to last a few minutes) and bomb only when i have the clear advantage (other player in a hole, im on top)
its a good strategy for sure, but if the bombs are supplied by the game host the cost isn’t that much of a concern
plus, if you can pull off hyper-offensive and still have a good defense, it definitely gives you a good chance at winning (hyper-medium has its flaws)
For some reason that mentality sticks because bomb degration is a problem (my bombs would break mid-round back when i did a more equal playstyle, I cannot move inventory easily as explained by my OG:SG KDR). I’m gooood bait (The last tournament I almost won was with a player who had an offensive playstyle and mine defensive.)

yea thats why most events allow persisting pie so your bombs dont break as fast

A huge thanks to the folks at ODF and GTG for making me a millionaire tonight! I received one of the 1 million coin prizes after the marathon hunt 
Factor in 1700 rough oort, over 200 thermal cores, and ALL the other drops, thats close to 2 mil…
That also doesn’t count the 5 levels gained for a cool 1500 cubits…by far my most financially productive 12 hrs spent in Boundless! It was a blast too

I am right there with you on the GTG/ODF marathon. Besides all the loot I also won 1 million, and a SS of cores! With that and the loot value probably 3+ million easy total.
I’ve definitely had enough inventory for a bit to sell off and have 1 mil but I’m fairly new and spend it as fast as it is coming in for my self or guild ops and build.
But for a brief moment just one of my alts had 1 mil for the first time…
