My inventory always gets full fast and i don’t know how to drop items, i cant find anything in the controls menu either

From your inventory:
Click on the item, click anywhere that is not a valid slot (like in the attached screenshot):
Just don’t pick it up again and you’ll be rid of it!

You may have to drag it out like halfway across the screen it feels like tho

Is there some keyboard shortcut for dropping either a selected item in the inventory, or whatever is currently ‘held’?
I tried ctrl, alt, and shift in combination with clicking on inventory items. And then tried a lot of different keys with items picked up.
Picking up stacks, and manually moving them across a wide screen to drop them is a bit of a drag. Pun intended!
I kind of dislike that I’m tempted to crank my mouse sensitivity, to make inventory management tasks less time and focus intensive.

but to drop on floor you need to drag it
i use workbenches as garbage bins for fast exposal off mud and stuff
