I’ve been looking around on tier threes and I’m wondering if there is a certain amount of biomes on t3’s or is it the same amount of biomes for all the planets
All 50 of the public planets have 50 regions, with a variety of biomes. I don’t think anyone but the devs know how many biomes are on each planet.
minimum number of biomes when creating a sov is 12
I always assumed the public worlds are created using the 12 biome template, although it might well be the procedural world creation throws some extra biomes every now and then
however, since the biomes on public worlds usually stretch over bigger areas, it looks like its rather 12 biome minimum used there… just my own thinking
whenever I create a sov (and I made them in tens over years), I always add extra biomes (above the minimum 12 that is) - and if you add 4-6 additional ones, it’s hard to get any larger area made of just one biome; the biomes are usually in smaller bits and meshed a lot
all above is just my own theory although based on observation, still just a guess
I wonder what would happen if you picked every biome?
must do it sometime - would probably be a total chaos of completely mixed bits and pieces
on my recent sov i experimented to have a lot of water and little land - picked almost 20 biomes (cant remember how many exactly)
it already led to really tiny bits of individual biomes, or a small island having 4 different biomes squeezed there
most interesting was Man Made Island biome that was pushed underwater and was sitting at the bottom - one full island structure nicely hidden there
