We recently reinstalled the game and came back and settled on Alder but 80% of the planet is just one dude’s plots and the population in the game is just … sad I wish we could get people to come back and just play to play again I miss all the portals and people and checking out different builds.

One way to start is for those of us that do play or want to play to keep playing. I’ve started spreading the word again in various places on social media and forums of other games that are similar, and I have noticed a slight up-tick (very minor) in player count.

Even when the player count was higher, I still didn’t see all that many people. I’ve moved over to Senginakai not too long ago and I’m enjoying it there. Always room for more

A couple of weeks back, we had a new player join who wanted some help. When I found out what kind help, it made me feel like they were doing it for the wrong reasons…

There was someone on Discord doing the same thing and I too feel it was for the wrong reasons, because nearly all of his videos are about dead/abandoned games and just watching most of his videos made me not want to try any of the games that were “showcased”.

I personally don’t think the game is dead and I don’t feel its abandoned. The player base is holding steady as of late with a slight uptick.

There is a youtuber that plays “dead games” gives a little back story on the development of the game and talks to the remaining player base about what the game use to be before it went under. its a cool series

I would still play if I could transfer my characters from PlayStation to PC. I really don’t want to restart everything on grinding plots

Wait, Rye showed up and asked about it? He’s usually very respectful to the backstory, and really does a lot to explain the game’s story when he talks about it. I really like his videos, so that’s quite the surprise to see.

It isn’t necessarily ‘abandoned’ games only, but also ‘very low yet consistent player pop’ he covers. Several have been in the same vein as Boundless, with dedicated players helping out new players and doing their best to keep the game alive.

Yea any attention is good for the game, and I watched several of his videos and read the comments. I found most of his videos well-made and respectful.

Overall, the viewers pitied the communities in the videos and that made me sad. I know there are a lot of communities like this and while this community has its bad apples, it’s always deserved a lot more than it was given.

Some games are dead and abandoned and some actually have work being done, and in our case I think there is an effort to make Boundless work and if I was an influencer and had millions of views on YouTube or if I was s a Twitch streamer with 20-30k viewers each stream I’d try and save games like Boundless because it’s very possible with more players Monumental would see the game has the potential we all know it has. I have literally watched a Streamer increase a player base simply by just playing the game, but I’ve also seen the opposite effect.

I look forward to his video, the comments and I’ll be watching the player count to see if it increases.

I met up with him in game and showed him a bunch of stuff. He was real nice. We ran around for about 1.5 hours. And he wanted to talk to a few other people as well.

I may reach out to him.

You should. The more voices from the community, the more stories get out there.

Still wish I had more motivation to play these days, but it’s been hard to go by it alone, with the unknown future of the game. There’s so much potential with it, that I wish more had been done over the last half a decade.

I still have a hope that it isn’t too late for the game to pick up steam again.

hmm, could be interesting or irritating.

I played from something like 2016-to 2018/2019 then was gone for years due to not having a working computer till 2025, then come back on to check while waiting for a different game’s players to load, I see that it’s not only still working and there are people active in organizing stuff in game. I find that pretty impressive considering a smaller player base that it is still going and functional. While I was waiting for my other game, EnisledLady saw that I was in Boundless and hopped on, then she got other older players to hop on as well.

I think the player base drop off is not necessarily due to the game it self but could be circumstantial.

If we get previous players and people who produce content for games to come back on to just take a look /interest we could get a pretty good revival.
