How to sectionalize my huge plots?

OK, I am not trying to sound like a jerk or anything or a bragger but here I go…:

I have an area of about 20Lx20Wx3H plots (20x20 with 3 high, all bought by me).

Lets pretend I want to open my super awesome mega square to have people have 2Lx1Wx2H plots for a store, for example.

Now I want to keep my place looking nice, so I want to retain beacon control, but if someone who wants it 99% control. What I plan to do is add everyone to my friends list and then give them full permissions on the plot area that they want. So how do I cut up my land with beacon control things? If I place one down, does it ONLY control that ONE 1x1 plot, or does it control an area?

I hope I am explaining this right. Please help!

edit: Or do I have to put a beacon control in every single plot that I own???
Edit also: How does it work if I own a huge area, and I play a 2nd beacon inside my pre-owned plot???

I was looking into doing something similar but the only way I could figure out was to leave unclaimed plots in-between my own. If there is another way I’d also love to know. And the ability to rent or sell plots would be awesome too.

Unplot 2x1x2 plots first, than put a new beacon there, and at last plot it again using this new beacon as source for extensions. You will be able to give permissions only to this 2x1x2 plot.
Unfortunately you may encounter problems if you will want to make something only for you above it.

When I unplot the area I want and replot it, can I use the same guy who owns all the land, or do I need to replot with an alt?

You can use the same guy.

Edit: the only important thing is to extend from new beacon as permissions are based on master beacon in ploted area.

Hrmm… I have a multi tiered area… plan was to have diff ships on diff levels with diff people… but I dont think I can do that now.

Guess ill have to just use it like rings. more or less.

I’m fairy certain you can’t but didn’t fully test it.
I know you can’t plot another beacon if space is already reserved by your other beacon and there are vertical gaps in plots.

Someone told me that you can do it if you won’t leave vertical gaps between new beacon and plots from below, but i didn’t have time to test it yet.
