Increase max skill Set

Increase max skill set so one does not need to create multiple alts.

It is about preference, you can add 4 additional skill pages to each Character for a total of five. My Main has a Hammer/Farming/crafting/Hunting/Forging page.
Some of my alts are just for a specific purpose or two.

Some like to have a character for each skill and since you can have up to 10 toons it is all up to you.

Can I max out 4 skills? How many alts would be needed for axing, hunting, building etc at max level?

I think the idea behind this is so you trade with people of different specializations not to ‘force’ more alts. Whether it worked as intended or not is a seperate issue though.

But

I feel a base gatherer only needs 8 power 8 dexterity 8 luck 5 attributes 5 tool mastery 5 tool epic and damage epic, the other stuff are nice to have. So you do have wiggle room to customize to your liking

Good idea. This one was on the list of changes that were slated for the next update. I don’t personally believe we’ll ever see that update but it’s probably at the top of the list.

Yup the skill page update was the biggest thing on that last update I wanted. Sadly it will probably never come to pass.

Update 249

  • Max skill points have been increased to 367 to accommodate the new skills.
    and this,
  • Change the way Dripstone drops are converted into Spray Cans so that the number of spray cans produced can be improved via character skills.
  • Added 2 new skills, Colour Spray Crafting skill and Goo and Tint Epic. The Colour Spray Crafting skill increases the amount of Colour Sprays crafted per Goo. The Epic increases the Colour Sprays crafted per Goo and in addition, allows most tintable blocks to be coloured.
There was more to the update like local Universes and swords and shields but those first two were the ones i was wanting to see.

Why do you say that this will never come to pass?

It’s a sensitive topic on the forums but in short, the creators of the game sold it to a new company that don’t seem very interested in expanding it. It’s still a fantastic game in its current state though but most here worry that this may be its final state.. But I hope that doesn’t keep you from enjoying it for a few thousand more hours or so.

For me it’s the only game in its genre that is playable that I have found. I don’t care for Minecraft much or its founder and this game fixes much of the stuff that was wrong with Minecraft. I am a casual gamer(1-3 hours per week mostly) and even in games where I was at elite levels( Fortnite ) I didn’t get to a thousand hours so it will take me a very long time to learn this game. So far I am still having fun but some of the stuff is not intuitive so I can see why more new players aren’t joining. I do have a great community and friends I met here that are helping but most modern new players won’t be used to the effort that requires. I will do what I can to support the community and devs and hopefully help it to grow.

Yeah us casual gamers end up spending thousands of hours in this game. As you say there is nothing like it. IAs of today I have 11380 hours in it. You start building and before you know it several hours have passed. Not sure if you are crafting anything in machines yet but once you do you will notice somethings have some longer crafting times. Just throw them in the machine and they will continue to craft while your offline. You can collect them once you get back on. If you get stuck or or need any help just reach out. Be aware the in game chat is delayed unless you are near someone or using whisper to someone on planet. The whisper will also show you anyone else on planet with you. The rest of the chat channels are delayed. You can always ask here and there are many discords as well with people that will help answer questions.

I mean to be fair to the current owners, it isn’t like the old devs were updating it either. :')

This is not casual which is probably your point I would assume. Thats roughly 474 days of playing it.

We are going on almost 5 years of little to no communication, empty promises and zero updates.

This is respectable. I was playing 8+ hours a day in Boundless and I still never got everything I wanted to do done. I dont know my exact time played, but its nearing that 20k hours point. Some of that being AFK.
