Invasion!

Is this an issue? Would it be better for me to close it for now?

I don’t see anyone complaining, at least it doesn’t bother me. So I don’t think there should be any reason to close it

Okay, I was just curious. It’s at least out of the way of the main city. I’ll have a road leading to my home once it’s finally finished though, so hopefully the bug will be fixed by then.

Unless people don’t care and want the extra experience. Then… I’m not too worried. :wink:

It was only an issue in Elop Portas because people were trying to build, and there were mobs everywhere.

Does anyone have any information on where mobs can spawn? I’m under the impression they don’t actually spawn on beacons.

I know that spot in Solum is below a gigantic thing in the sky that may or may not have portals inside, idk because I cannot reach it, lol.

I can check it out around the area though.

@Pseudonym84 i think maybe (as @Arkefyre told me on discord) it MIGHT have something to do with the sky portal and suicide drop to the floor portal - where the server is like ahah! there you ar… Huh… wait… where id you go… AHAH!.. errrmmmm… AHH… errr… GO GET EM FFS!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It takes more than 1 person to bug the animal spawning?. Try taking 4 people when you do.

Elop Portas was nice and peaceful tonight.

Our fearless leader @Jeffrotheswell was online, having missed all the fun the night before, so I reopened the portal, and moments later Armageddon all over again.

Anyway, it’s 100% confirmed that sky portals are the issue/solution.

I closed it because it was lagging @Jeffrotheswell out. I made a Scratch-ton of shards anyway, so feel free to open and close it whenever. The whole build team are on the beacon.

Oh, and the mobs don’t despawn when you close it - it just stops more from spawning, so you’ll still have to clean up a few hundred mobs once you close it.

Massive lagg at Therka market at the moment. Seems one of the portals has been reopend, possible it’s the one at Karokendo’s place but I’m not sure.

Client is lagging out at 12FPS, game became more something like a slideshow. In the debug window I found out that the client is recieving over 400 server commands a second. Seems quite high to me. Almost got me killed by a wildstock…

Yep - these high up portals (or players) will trigger the continuous spawning. This will increase the networking to all near players. Which will effect performance. We need to get the fix deployed.

Kept ours closed until the fix is in place. It was originally supposed to be the new infinite drop portal - all the mob spawning was an unexpected side effect.

And another one, hope the fix it out soon. Maybe the devs can remove / disable portals that (ab)use this issue in the meantime.

Another screenshot with over 700 cmd/s… It even spiked above 1000 cmd/s after which the game became trippy and had to restart.

Try speaking to the portal owner. If it was just recently opened then the player is no doubt active.

I imagine this is a priority for the developers right now @NL-Tim. Hang tight.
