Island Castle with Grandiose Bridge [Work in Progress]

WOW! Looking better than i thought! The slanted blocks really help out too.

Thanks! Yeah I am loving what you can do with sloped blocks as well!

Time for bed for me I think! … but first a quick spam of tonight’s progress…

Finished off the remaining bridge towers, along with the central column (although not 100% happy with that yet so may tweak it a little!). Also finished off the other 2 towers for the main building and did a little internal work on it.

I’ll hopefully finish off the other side of the bridge soon ^^

Interesting. Kind of looks more like the ancient Chinese/Japanese designs.

i bet if i find the right world i will find this place found some other builds that had secret locations already so how hard should it be

This looks like a style which could be established for a guild area. Looking good.

kind of like a gateway inside right?

nice work its incredibly awsome

Thanks all for the comments  I’m enjoying this build a lot!

@HueJanus - There quite possibly is some influence from Chinese temples in there - it was a lot more apparent before I changed the roof designs a couple of times!

@sikerow - You’ll probably find it depending on how determined you are

@Combatman12 - Exactly - I was trying to go for a central hub which could then grow a town (or guild) all around it on the other sides of the lake. I will show the coordinates a little later to see if anyone wants to join me in building up the area in a similar theme.

@Dragoonyan - Yep, the central tower is the main gateway onto the island. I just need to add some hulking great doors

@Lightninglegend - Thanks I’m glad you like it!

Well i found the world and one of your builde it is some kinda city thingi wiht a huge beacon how close am i?

What I really like at your tower bridge is the stair like tunnel beneath it. And it is sandstone. Great idea to combine different stone types. I think it’s really pretty.

It’s been a short while since I posted some screenshots of my progress … so here’s a few more!

As you can see, I have completed most of the main building now. I’m still adding the interior decor and tweaking the lighting etc.

I also added another 2 towers down by the water (after tunnelling through the hill) which leads to a small jetty for pleasure boats (no point having big ships as it’s a lake!).

I also finally got my copy-paste head on and finished the other side of the bridge
I still need to add lighting to all the towers on the bridge though … so that’ll be next on my list!

And finally - here’s a few shots from the side at various times of day!

Moon rays … !

I just love the reflections

Turning out nice! Are you going to expand the castle btw?

I’ll more than likely fill up the entire island in one way or another - probably with a bit of burrowing underground too … although there is a massive cave underneath as well so I might try and make a feature out of that too.

The surrounding area on the opposite side of the lake, however, can be used by anyone that wants to join me in building up a town with the same sort of theme. It’s all fairly steep slopes all around though, so it would require creative thinkers

We’ll need to start calling you Walder Frey…

This looks awesome! I wish I had the eye for architecture like this, I’d like to make some big awesome structures. I can make a pretty good ship or a simple treehouse but that’s it right now haha.
Did you look at references for your build? Photographs or anything? Or was it all from your head?
Either way it’s hella impressive!

in this case … don’t go to a wedding at his castle

I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult haha!

@WinterHyena thanks! It’s all from the depths of my mind really. It started out being built with broken stone, so it’s gone through a couple of rebuilds with different resources until I found combinations I liked! It’s just a case of experimenting really! I’m sure there’s loads more things you can build - the possibilities are “Boundless”

Awww, now none of my guests will turn up this weekend!
