As far as I can recall, the right mouse button for PC in the item menu is unassigned. It is fun to swap with an item between the two windows, even more so now that swapping speed has increased, which I’m very thankful for. On gamepad you can throw items directly into the crafting menu. I think with mouse not. Only per drag and drop. So my suggestion is to add an instaswap function to the right mouse button. I don’t know what the standard for Macintosh in relation to several Mouse buttons.
If you are in the crafting menu, clicking right mouse button on an item could instantly throw it back into your pouch. At least I think this was missing. Can’t look ingame right now unfortunately. For me this would be very intuitive or practical. It would expect you to know the right mouse button function, so maybe not obvoius enough on the other hand.
AFAIK weapons / items will be single or two handed (can’t find the correct source yet). If items are two-handed useable it’s likely that the right hand items will be used with the right mouse button while the left item will be used with the left mouse button.
You might be saying clicking on a weapon, item, building material in your inventory via right mouse button, could automatically assign this to the right mouse button? Not really sure what you mean.
What’s with a dropdown menu or a “combine” function? I think there are plenty of other ways to use a second button in the inventory. If there is no other usage of the second button I would suggest to use it for “take 1” or “drop 1”, cuz nothing is more practical to an inventory and for trading then being able to stack and unstack on a fast way. To hold the button to take or drop just some is to inaccurate often.
I do not hope for dropdown menus, but if the game and crafting aspects gets too complicated, it might be a necessity. I just don’t believe it would fit well to the current setup of menus. And you have to consider, this game is for console either. You would not want to play an Eve-Online on console, trying to switch through swarms of windows and dropdown menus. Just imagine the world builder on PS4. Handled via gamepad. Would already be a challenge to implement sreamlined gamepad controls into this tool.
@james Can we get the ability to shift click the products of a crafting recipe and get the full amount of stacks without having to click 10000000000000 times? Right now crafting large amounts of items takes forever…
We’re working on an updated rev of the GUI’s (@ben has shared some of the new concepts) this will ultimately change the way crafting is presented. We don’t really want to spend time improving the current system and would rather focus on getting the new one in place.
