I scanned it. it should be on boundless info if it doesn’t update here.
Took me an hour to find Flan…lol. I swear the stone colors are the same as the last planet.

Very close if not the same

Updated the post here.

Identical rock colors as the last exo … sigh

I demand a RECOUNT… I MEAN RE-ROLL!!!

that’s what i thought. I didn’t go to the last exo cauae all I needed was the goo on the meta and it seems like meta goo is harder to find, so I didn’t bother. This time I’ve poked around a little bit to get some, but meh.

I grabbed a bit of goo, some ore, coal. To offset the coin cost of warping there. Didn’t even bother looking around the surface when I saw the colors

Exact same colors as Xi Ursa image
at least the rock colors are the same…

Devs have said before that there are only so many colors so new colors will become increasingly rare to find.

This should mean that we can know the number of colors not yet discovered/spawned right? I believe one could even take this a step further to determine the probability of a new color spawning on the next exo.

Has anyone collected the data for such an analysis or done the analysis itself? I don’t see it in the forum but maybe I’m missing something.

@Gorillastomp and @Soju-VB I believe are 2 of the people I am aware of that have some data on this. @Soju-VB was sharing the new colors discovered and what colors were still locked (which was more than I thought).

IIRC @gorillastomp knew some percentages around the chance of a new color being found via rolling a planet, but I am sure it was not an exact science.

My understanding is that the Exos (Just like the Sovereigns) have algorithms that determine the colors that can appear. While the Exos can spawn colors that will apparently never spawn on Sovereigns (like white) the algorithms still limit colors based on the type of Exo planet. Without a more detailed knowledge of the algorithms it is hard to determine what type of Exo can produce what colors.

As far as the conversation on unlocking colors. It is my understanding that a new color on an Exo does not unlock a color for sovereigns. Only getting a new color on a sovereign or if it appeared on a new public planet would unlock the color for a player to select that color.

@Shankt From my understanding of the worldbuilder’s profiles for each type of planets, some color can’t be happening, some may be pretty rare and it depends of the blocks, plants type.

I think from all the exos and sovereigns planet we have seen most of the unlockable color happened already.

New profiles would be needed to able every color to be unlocked. Maybe under the new owners this could be fixed if they want it to be.

I used to geek about it when i was way more active, now i just peek around to see if there is any news.

t8 worlds still not in game - these could probably have the all-colour possible profiles to be the most otherworldly of all (as James’ explanation of that progression from earthy to very exotic as we move up the world tier progression)
