The freeing up of plots will be nice but really It’s mostly to do with feeling disappointment whenever I visit and wishing I’d done things differently. Clean slate.
Not really into the whole preservation thing…I’m still playing and looking forward to taking some elements from Lake and put them into new builds…also all those mats will come in handy 
Also just gonna be so awesome and trippy seeing things turn to ash!

I must not be understanding this compactness update well enough, what is that going to do to your beautiful builds?
It doesn’t really…it did (long “roads” to various parts of build would lead to uncompact state which could not be rectified without considerable addition of plots, or the breaking up of the build into various parts) but as I said it was more of a kick into a realisation that do I really want to save it, and this is where I’ve ended up with that thought process.
Still don’t agree with the compact system (and I know it will be tweaked to be more forgiving before release) but I have started to begrudgingly accept it 
…james has made very clear that is the path that he and his team want to take the game and tbh it will make the plotting system stronger in the long run (if not necessarily more newbie friendly or as versatile 
)
There’s also very good reason why devs are bringing reclaim in before compactness…

so time to turn a “great city” to ashes.
will hopefully be on at 3pm BST to reclaim my 2 Lake beacons. Time might alter if patch takes longer to implement.
have a look around, if you so wish, and pick some good spots to grab some colourful ash and maybe also some spots to make a new home…there are a couple of really nice locations for builds (eg. where my workshop is).
hopefully this won’t all go pete tong…
edit: city portal from ps soch I hub to central beacon…this should be the last place to turn to ash.

It’s a lovely sight to witness! Even my uncompact road that I just deleted still kinda looked cool with chiseled ash! haha
