Thats the biggest problem i see. Missleading thing blown out of proportion. If you check general discussion there are tons of threads how this game is cash grab. I would suggest for devs to clear it asap. Why ppl comment on something they have no idea. The hate is already rolling
thankfully we have quite a few streamers in the community that can help give out the correct info.
This has happend to quite a few games on steam recently (within the last year or so) - Usually it dies down at some point, just hoping it won’t cause damage.
I just edited my review - I think I gave it a fair assesment, and otherwise tried to be informative to this whole thing - for anyone who might want to help out keep up the positivity then please do feel free to upvote: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Zoun/recommended/324510
Thanks for reminding that ! I updated my review too so it is not early access review anymore.

I also read many of the reviews in steam and most people complain about in-game shop and gleam club. They think there should not be stuff like that in a paid game. I somehow agree with them but I don’t mind having them in Boundless because they don’t have a big impact on gameplay.
as long as they avoid p2w i’m fine with it,in fact many games that are paid for have in game cash shops and hardly anyone complains (except deus ex mankind divided lol)
Steam reviews are great and all, but I would suggest going and posting on Metacritic. Metacritic compiles reviews from all major critics and users, and calculates an average based on them all. It is the best resource to use for games/movies/tv anywhere on the internet. when I looked yesterday, not a single review has been logged for critics or users for any platform. If we want the user base to expand, we need to be posting there!
The backers going wild about selling plots could have been a warning sign.
I mean we live in the world of alternative facts now and it doesn’t matter if something is really p2w or if it’s just perceived to be p2w.
I mean everytime i see a new streamer or youtuber try the game and the first thing they see when they explore the games menus is 4,99€ I can only facepalm.
Agree. It would be way better if shop would for example turn on only on level 20 or so on each char…
This way players would learn how the game works first before they are introduced to shopping carts
Again, it’s a matter of perception. Perhaps if at the same time as the shop is introduced in the tutorial (pretty much first thing you do in game is buying plots iirc) there could be a very large, flashy message in a bold, friendly yellow font saying that you can earn infinite cubits by filling the XP bar, and that you keep earning them even at level cap.
I think a lot of future reviews (let’s face it, no one that bashed the game in reviews and stopped playing after 2 hours will go back to try it again unless there’s some major expansion) would be improved if people had this ‘insider’ knowledge straight away. It would soften the perception of ‘you have to buy cubits’ quite a bit, I think.
Edit: And people that will post a negative review after 2 hours of playing are unlikely to read the unobtrusive small popup hints. So it should be large, in the middle of the screen, and perhaps accompanied by some sort of sound effect. Maybe fireworks.
I’ve tried the ‘down voting’ button, but mine just keeps coming up with an error message and doesn’t recognise it
If you click ‘No’ - I have a strange feeling that the counter just goes up regardless. So we’ve basically helped it
I haven’t even left a review for it yet. Reason behind it is I don’t leave many reviews (unless I really feel the game deserves it), NOT saying that this doesn’t mind.
I prefer to think it through thoroughly, take my time, edit appropriately and make it a detailed joy to read. It’s going to be somewhat long I think because my main aim is to dispel the negative criticisms and remind/warn people of the players whom are clearly trolling the game without really scraping the surface of it (or have been secretly paid to negate it…yes it happens a lot).
You’ll know it’s mine when it goes on and I’ll even allow comments on it so you lot can jump on and add to it’s overall grandeur.
Wrote a review for the game too.

And PS, comments are disabled so you can’t even correct the mis-information.
It seems everyone leaving a bad review disables comments so people can’t correct them and tell it how it really is.
2/3 of your potential customers have a problem with the monetization you have built. This is no longer a few of your hardcore supporters opposing it. I implore you to reconsider. You still have time.
My proposal:
Institute a sub, Get rid of all the micro and gleam club, a flat sub is fair and can allow us to remove all game mechanic advantages. Cap the number of plots that count toward prestige, and foot fall per account, and even by IP. Have server rental on top of that for those that choose to. When a user’s sub expires take all blocks placed down in there plots and pull them into a magic storage so they have access to them upon resub. This solves the garbage collection issue and still lets them keep the core aspects of their progress. Combined with blueprints the players will have an effective was to come back and continuing, but also maintains garbage collection.
