I just left a review and noticed that they have gone from mostly positive to mixed. Obviously because of the influx of new players (I imagine). If you’re enjoying the game, I recommend getting on there and writing a positive review to get it back up. People really do rely on these things when deciding to buy a game.
Thanks for the heads up - I just went in and edited it to remove the ‘Early Access Review’ <3
heh mine was outdated too
This is sad. I just got the game and ive been looking forward to it for a month.theres no way there could be that many legitimate negative reviews in just a few hours. I posted a positive one =/ hope this doesn’t continue
Some people are born to complain without truly giving something a chance.
The reason it’s skewed is because people who bought via this website don’t get their review counted on the front page score percent-thingy.
If you got friends comin’ in the game, have them buy the game on Steam with their credit card FIRST, play for under 2 hours, and if they like it, give it a positive review, then have them refund it, and give them your extra key if you were a backer.
Otherwise, if your friends like the game, and they use one of your backer keys, it won’t count towards the percent.
we need to spread the word and get people to post legitimate reviews. i read some of the negative ones and I dont feel like the complaints are very valid. I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion but complaining about things like a games price at 39.99 is pretty petty. I can see mentioning it in a review but not giving a completely bad review just because the game is 39.99 and not half finished at 19.99 like most games on the market these days. this game feels like game ready for release and even though money is very tight right now i gladly payed the 39.99.
I don’t mind if ppl give their honest opinion… good or bad. However, I believe that it should be thought out and some effort put into a product before you poo poo it. After you’ve given something a fair chance, then say what you’ve gotta say.
Well that is what i mean. I feel like they are basing their opinion on the price of most steam games, but lets face it the quality of most games on steam is not what games used to be. Boundless FEELS like a completed console game which mostly cost 59.99 to 69.99 so really 39.99 is a good deal.

"Have been waiting for a long long time for this game to come out and was really put off disappointed by what I I’ve been waiting for.
The game is now £32.99 - quite an expensive title - and it has Microtranactions which are non cosmetic. Infact - the thing which put me off most of all. During the tutorial section of the game - before you chop down trees or hunt any animals or do any of the fun stuff - the game actuall introduces you to its currency and microtransaction system.
Super disappointed."

I have to say that I’m incredibly disappointed. The game could be damaged by this review by somebody who has no idea what they are actually talking about and didn’t care to learn enough about the game to realize it’s completely the opposite of how they reviewed it. A lot of people will be turned away by this misleading stain of a review. People see coffers, cubits, and plot purchases and scream, “PAY2WIN, LOOT-BOX, CASH-GRAB, GARBAGE GAME”. I suppose there’s nothing to be done about it. But I’m just sad.

Sad to see so many give in to a quick search. Take information as valid from a 5 hour game time review. In a time where there’s so many lack of compelling games, for them to give up the chance to try this game from a poorly constructed review.
Not even having chance to defend a stance that the devs have taken. With the overwhelming lack of valid information on steam right now.
I updated my review as well, Keep the positivity coming, people! Also, Veterans of Boundless, update your reviews to reflect all the new good stuff! <3
Updated specifically to counter the play 2 win that seems to dominate the bad reviews. We can also rate untrue reviews as unhelpful if they contain false information even if we cannot comment.
I’ve been reading them, and there are still a number of fair criticisms imo.
I agree that this is incredibly unfortunate, however it’s really up to the design team to make things so as not to be misleading. Especially when it comes to loot boxes - the game does not have them, but the reward boxes containing skill points, plots, etc., seem explicitly designed to appear like loot boxes. Just look at the “tiers” of boxes, and the animations for unpacking them.
I don’t think that it’s these reviewers’ fault explicitly for seeing the game as a “cash-grab”, even though it’s most certainly not in my opinion.
Remember we can also upvote the more honest/nuanced reviews
another problem is people don’t read comments, they just comment. I’ve replied twice in a thread and explained several points which someone just commented and said the opposite of what I said.
We all need to UPVOTE the truthful reviews, not just downvote the ones that are lying.
I updated my review from early access.
